Another TV show won’t be coming back. A&E has cancelled The Returned after one season of 10 episodes.
On The Returned, the residents of a small town have their lives turned upside down when some of their loved ones appear to return from the dead. The cast includes Mark Pellegrino, Tandi Wright, Jeremy Sisto, India Ennenga, Sophie Lowe, Mat Vairo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kevin Alejandro, Sandrine Holt, Dylan Kingwell, Aaron Douglas, Rhys Ward, Leah Gibson, Agnes Bruckner, and Michelle Forbes.
The series debuted with disappointing ratings on March 9th, garnering a 0.58 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.54 million viewers. The numbers got much worse as the season progressed and the 10 episodes ended up averaging a 0.38 demo rating with 1.05 million viewers.
To no surprise, the cable channel has decided not to order any additional episodes. The defacto series finale of The Returned aired on May 11th.

I can’t believe no one said there would not be a second season. My wife and I watched the first season not realizing it was the last season. The least they should do is briefly let us know why these people came back. Not fair.

I binge watched the show on Netflix and had to stop at 6am, cause was getting sleepy. But I continued the 2 shows that were left the next day. I was disappointed to find out there was no season 2. Can’t Netflix pick it up at least for another season to wrap things up. I so loved the show!
I’m so devo they cancelled the show… Got me hooked for no reason! I don’t want to see it in the French version, I’m so in love with the characters in the US version! Please reconsider the cancellation.. There are so many viewers as well as myself that are extremely disappointed about the decision made 🙁 this show is by far the best I’ve seen in a long long time.. BRING IT BACK!
So disappointed to find out there will not be a Season 2 of The Returned. My Daughter and I just finished watching Season 1 on Netflix. Every episode had us wanting to see the next. We never saw an advertisement for this show when it originally aired on A&E. Had we seen it we would definitely had watched then. Netflix should pick this up so we can all see how this story plays out. Simon, Rowan, Tommy, Klohe and Baby? Lena and Camille? Adam? Helen? Clair, Lucy, Jack and Peter? Victor/Henry/Eric? We want more!
Please pick this up Netflix! I just finished watching this I binge watched in 1 day there is way too much left unanswered! I loved it I know it would do well on Netflix!

Omg! I watched the whole series 1 on netflix. Now so disappionted to find out there is no season2 REALLY whats up with that
just found out about this show and loved it please do a season two i would loathe to watch french one not that good considering i don’t like reading subtitles and can’t understand french
What a GREAT, well written series with very good actors/actresses. TOTALLY loved this show and storyline. Please reconsider a season 2! By far one of your BEST shows. Maybe more marketing?? I would have watched it when it aired had I realized what the story was about…

Wish we could have a second season
I just found this on Netflix last night and just finished the last episode today. I loved it! It kept me on the edge of the bed. I came on the internet looking for a season 2 release date and found it was cancelled. I wished there was a second season. I would’ve recommended this show everyone

I had been watching the original French version of the Returned, and was so glad to see they had adapted an American version, only to find out now, that it was cancelled. That’s terrible. I hate it when you really get into a series, and just like that it gets cancelled. Darn. I hope the French version doesn’t get cancelled too.
