Young & Hungry fans are out of luck. Deadline reports Freeform has dropped plans for a movie follow-up to the cancelled TV show.
The comedy, which finished its final season in July, centers on food blogger, Gabi Diamond (Emily Osment), who becomes the personal chef of wealthy tech entrepreneur Josh Xander Kaminski (Jonathan Sadowski). The cast also includes Aimee Carrero, Kym Whitley, Rex Lee, and Bryan Safi.
Earlier, we reported Freeform was developing a Young & Hungry TV movie to wrap up the series. However, it looks like that is not going to happen after all. On Twitter, star Emily Osment revealed there will be no Young & Hungry movie:
It breaks my heart to tell you that in addition to @FreeformTV not giving our Young & Hungry audience the ending our show deserved, they have ALSO decided to not go forward with a full length film. From me and my obvious future tv hubby @sadowski23 we love you and we’re sorry.

I truly miss Young and Hungry! I laughed out loud through all the episodes. I’m very disappointed that it was cancelled. The cast members were awesome together. I just don’t understand why such an amazing show was cancelled especially without a true ending. I would love to see it back on the air!
I think people shouldn’t cancel a show intil they finish the whole series and the ending. They shouldn’t be allowed to cancel the show unless they do a final season with an ending.
Continue the young and hungry the show is very funny.

I’m so tired of getting into a show and once again it getting canceled. I don’t even want to watch tv much because what’s the point you bring something that looks interesting out and I give a try and love it. Oh but no that’s not right we go by these ratings and not everyone is into it, so it must be canceled. What I don’t understand is why waste the time and money on them if they ain’t gonna survive. I loved this fun fluff of a show but they could have finished it up with the wedding & not leave it up to the boardroom folks to not come through as usual. So we had another cliffhanger with nowhere to go but our imaginations for the ending we wanted. In the word of a smart old orange person, “Sad.”
What a shame corporate knows nothing
ABC corporate has always done this: they didn’t properly wrap up baby daddy either
For one, why let a show end that way if there wasn’t going to be another season! It took a year to get the final 10 episodes! But then to let it end with a cliff hanger and not at least tie up loose ends is unfair!! That is how you loose viewers for a tv station! You keep ending shows without wrapping it up! I am for one kind of done with ABC! Netflix series wrap up their shows!
