It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia just wrapped season 12 last month, and fans will likely have to wait until 2019 for the series to return for season 13. The series has already been renewed through season 14.
Why the long delay?
Busy schedules are behind the extra-long delay between seasons. Kaitlin Olson stars on the FXX comedy, and she also stars on The Mick, which will wrap its first season later tonight. The FOX comedy has already been picked up for a second season.
Olson said the following about the delay to TV Guide:
“We ended up pushing our next season a year because we were all busy with separate projects this year. So at the end of this coming shooting season of The Mick I’ll step right into Sunny after that.”
