Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?
I loved the show… really disappointed.
I just binged watched all 3 season -and just finished watching the last episode in season 3 -was checking to see when 4 would be on and VERY disappointed to find it had been cancelled.
I loved the show. I was very disappointed that there isn’t going to be a 4th season. I will never know what happened too many loose ends.
Very very disappointed. Yet such stupidity as the Bachelor and the Bachelorette remain. It was such a good show with things that really happen in real life
I was very upset to find out there would be no 45th season! How can you just cancel e show without tying up all the loose ends?!
This is the most frustrating and RUDE thing to do to your loyal followers of Cedar Cove, to leave them hanging with the last episode of season 3. At least you could have done a couple episodes to wrap it up…
I’m throughly disappointed. This was a wonderful series and it’s truly a shame to have it taken off the air.
OH NOOOOO! Please, please, please bring this great series back! It was wholesome and I loved where the show takes place.
I, like millions of others, really miss Cedar Cove. There aren’t many wholesome, interesting, and solid series out there, so when the best of the best is canceled, it really leaves a hole. The loyal audience AT LEAST deserves a proper ending. Please consider a movie finale or mini series to tie everything up.
You might lose viewers of your station if they think getting involved in a series might leave them hanging… As well as dropping a perfectly wonderful show that has many seasons left. This is not a good way to treat the loyal viewers of your channel.
Agreed!!
Such a wonderful show, please bring it back!!
We just finished watching all three episodes of Cedar Cove and are so disappointed that it was cancelled. Such a great show and the scenery was absolutely beautiful.
I have been waiting for season 4 and am so disappointed it has been cancelled.
Cedar Cove was the best Hallmark Original Series. Please bring it back!
why did u cancel this series it was great.
I can’t stand it! I just finished season 3 tonight on netflix and now I’m stuck with that ending Fix this Hallmark. At least do a 90 min finale episode to wrap it up for us. (Or are the answers in the book?)
I found Cedar Cove on Netflix, and quickly fell in love with the show and cast. The beautiful location is now on my list of places I want to visit! I am extremely disappointed to not have additional seasons. Lots of unanswered questions is an understatement!
I was disheartened to learn while looking for season 4 to watch of Cedar Cove that it was cancelled. I first fell in love with the Cedar Cove book series by a friend of mine who had the whole set and lent it to me. I couldn’t stop reading them until the very end. When I heard Hallmark was turning my beloved book series into a television series on I was ecstatic. The actors chosen for the characters were perfect and the storylines did follow the books. It was refreshing to watch a weekly series that was enjoyable to watch… Read more »
