canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Chuck: Could There Be a Follow-Up Movie?

by Trevor Kimball, January 27, 2012

Chuck reunion movie? Now that the Chuck TV series is over, some are no doubt already wondering if the Buy More gang could return one day in a reunion movie. It’s way too soon to tell but the idea has certainly been suggested.

Amidst the series finale coverage, Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, and executive producer Chris Fedak were all asked about the possibility. Here’s what they had to say:

USA Today: As for whether this is truly the end for a show that wouldn’t die, Levi says he could see a continuation via an online film. Again, it goes back to depending on the fans.
“I genuinely believe that our fan base, if given the opportunity to spend $5 on an hour-and-a-half Chuck movie to buy online and keep, I think they would,” he says. “That would be a really fun thing to do.”

THR: What are the chances of a Chuck movie?
Yvonne Strahovski: There are always more stories to tell. I’m sure that if that idea came up, I’m sure most if not all of the cast members would probably be up to doing something like that. We love each other. We’re such a close-knit group and the crew as well. So, it’s a real community that we’ve created amongst ourselves and the fans. So, I think if it was in the cards, I think we’d all be up for it.

Huffington Post: Is there really going to be a Chuck movie? Are you guys thinking about it? (question submitted by reader “chuckfan15”)
Chris Fedak: There are no plans at the moment, but it sure would be fun. We could blow up so many Crown Victorias.

What do you think? Would you like to see a Chuck movie of some kind or do you think the series finale should be the true ending? If you’d like a movie, how long should they wait to do it? What should it be about?

A movie would be awesome, and i’d pay! Sarah would need her memories back and maybe a possible baby angle?

I definitely believe that they should make a movie within this year where they figure out how to restore her memories and in the process have the one true last mission.

I dunno…. sometimes reunion movies work (Dead Like Me) and sometimes they ruin the whole experience and memory of the show. As long as they do it right, awesome….. I think the issue is making it actually feel like a movie as opposed to a two-hour episode….. the Futurama movies were basically two-hour episodes and they worked nicely….. although they also led to the resurrection of the series (boy wouldn’t it be cool if another network picked up Chuck….. they certainly left it open enough to do it).

Chuck is my life i know that it is sad to say, but i am a 13 year old girl who has been in love with chuck since last year I went back and spent 2 weeks watching all of the seasons and fell in love with Sarah and Chuck. If there isn’t a movie i will be very upset, I never cry during shows or movies and I cried for more than thirty minutes after watching this.I am begging for a movie I understand that Sarah will remember things along the way but what upsets me is that all that… Read more »

I think that a movie continuation of the series would be a perfect fit. To let all the die hard fans see these beloved characters once a year, or even once in a while would be fantastic. I hope this all pans out and becomes reality

I’m one of those that think any series finale should never be all there is.. So a movie would be great!

Seeing the ratings for this last season, I don’t think there is any chance for a movie on network TV. Maybe they could do a Christmas movie for Hallmark or Lifetime.

I think they should make one within the year.. I would pay full price whatever the cost for a movie….

I think it should start with flashbacks to the ending scenes and letting us all know her memories had returned
