TV show description:
This gritty medical drama revolves around an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressure on its staff. A “code black” is issued when the ER no longer has the manpower, capacity or equipment to operate effectively.
Doctor Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) is the ER Residency Director. She’s a brilliant doctor and an experienced professional who often has to resort to her intuition as opposed to standard medical procedures in order to save lives. She reminds her staff that life is measured in split seconds and a moment of hesitation can be the difference between life and death.
On the flip side to Leanne’s risk-taking is Doctor Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey) who is constantly at odds with her cavalier attitude.
Leanne’s confidante is Senior Nurse Jesse Salander (Luis Guzman) who’s seen it all at the country’s most notorious ER. His job is to manage the residents. Like the other technicians, doctors and nurses, he is facing a daily battle to save lives under immense pressure.
Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth), Christa Lorenson (Bonnie Somerville), Angus Leighton (Harry Ford) and Malaya Pineda (Melanie Chandra) are all first-year residents coming to terms with the harsh realities of their chosen profession.
Episode #47 — Business of Saving Lives
Angels Memorial descends into chaos when a plane crashes into the eighth floor. Also, it is up to Mario to save Noa’s life when she has a car accident. In addition, Willis admits to Rox that he needs her in his life, and the doctors gather in court to support Leanne for her custody hearing.
First aired: July 18. 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?
Don’t cancel!,,,,, Please
Keep Code Black. I love that show.
Don’t cancel Code Black!!!!!!!!! Other medical tv shows are not anywhere near as good.
I love Code Black!!! Reminds me of the old ERwish you would keep it~ I think that time slot sucks! I love Criminal Minds and I love Code Black! It’s the 10pm on Wed that hurts them!!
Another great show cancelled way too soon. I love these types of shows. Almost everything on now days is some faked “reality” show. I watch very few programs but I loved Code Black. I also love The Night Shift which also centers around an ER so I guess it will be the next to hit the chopping block.
Code Black is exciting, somewhat believable, good characters portrayed by excellent actors. I enjoy shows where the plot is central and the character’s drama is at a minimum. This is one of the few that hold to this formula like NCIS. I wish this show could at least get a good 3-4 seasons, if it has to go at all. This is one of the best shows on CBS.
I love this show!! I am very upset that they cancelled it. There are not a lot of good shows out there to watch. This show is one of the best. Please rethink this. Bring it back!
I am really upset to hear this show has been cancelled. During it’s first season, I couldn’t help but compare it to ER. This is an exciting and riveting program I look forward to it every week. Please don’t cancel it.
Nooooooo. My favorite show. So sad.
I enjoyed Code Black so much. So upset that this show is now cancelled. Not too many TV shows good enough to watch lately and you cancel Code Black!
I love this show and I was definitely disappointed it was cancelled for the second time. I hope another network is smart enough to pick it up.
Code Black is a great show. The stories/writing/acting are all top notch. It’s a shame that the networks cater to the generations raised on video games. Some of us who are more mature actually appreciate shows with some substance.
You are so right. I had not thought about it, but I guess Code Black does appeal to my maturity. I like story lines that add character depth over time, in layers.
Please don’t cancel Code Black. It’s one of the few shows with watching. I look forward to seeing it every week.
Please do not cancel Code Black! The stories/writers, the casts, and the crew made the show interesting and exciting, re-creating what going on in ER/hospital and life (paramedic) around it. Viewers can learn how hard the ER/medic team work, and understand that life is precious. There is a moral ethic values, caring of people, showing of humanity in the show as well. There are not many show on TV like this unique one. Please do reconsider and keep the show.
Code Black is the best medical show on TV. Please renew or have another network pick it up.
