TV show description:
This gritty medical drama revolves around an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressure on its staff. A “code black” is issued when the ER no longer has the manpower, capacity or equipment to operate effectively.
Doctor Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) is the ER Residency Director. She’s a brilliant doctor and an experienced professional who often has to resort to her intuition as opposed to standard medical procedures in order to save lives. She reminds her staff that life is measured in split seconds and a moment of hesitation can be the difference between life and death.
On the flip side to Leanne’s risk-taking is Doctor Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey) who is constantly at odds with her cavalier attitude.
Leanne’s confidante is Senior Nurse Jesse Salander (Luis Guzman) who’s seen it all at the country’s most notorious ER. His job is to manage the residents. Like the other technicians, doctors and nurses, he is facing a daily battle to save lives under immense pressure.
Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth), Christa Lorenson (Bonnie Somerville), Angus Leighton (Harry Ford) and Malaya Pineda (Melanie Chandra) are all first-year residents coming to terms with the harsh realities of their chosen profession.
Episode #47 — Business of Saving Lives
Angels Memorial descends into chaos when a plane crashes into the eighth floor. Also, it is up to Mario to save Noa’s life when she has a car accident. In addition, Willis admits to Rox that he needs her in his life, and the doctors gather in court to support Leanne for her custody hearing.
First aired: July 18. 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?
Why is it that good, well-written and acted shows are often canceled? I am disappointed because I read code black is ending after only 3 seasons. Is it too intense and thought provoking for network execs? Why do they continue with these mindless stupid forced comedies and ridiculous reality shows? It is no wonder that networks have real competition from other programming. Please reconsider and renew code black for multiple seasons.
I can’t understand why this show is cancelled. It is one of the best TV show on TV; great acting; great story, etc. It is much better than Grey’s Anatomy. Why Why Why? Please renew this TV show. It is a big mistake. Maybe the rating is low because of the night it is on. A great TV show should be on the best evening of the week for people to watch it. The Code Black TV shows that I watched this year were the best shows I ever seen in years. Please renew it.
Love this show. Love the drama and acting. I’m extremely disappointed to see Code Black canceled. Please say this can be reversed. I make sure I am in front of the TV for this show each time it is aired.
I love this show. I can’t believe they are cancelling it. I hope another channel picks them up.
Love this show! Wish it would continue for more seasons!
I am so disappointed that Code Black has been cancelled. I don’t understand why. Every episode is filled with so many catching stories. Please reconsider
It is so unfair and yes I as well as several friends are disappointed that this show, one of the best on TV is being cancelled. It is different, more intense, characters are alive and played wonderfully by the cast. I get the feeling of a hyped up and more serious (at times) version of M.A.S.H. The intense episodes, the feeling. After working as a first responder for the past twenty years and seeing first hand what those people go through at an ER….you are fools to just cast this aside for some brainless reality or “live” type show with… Read more »
I am so disappointed that this show is being cancelled! There are so many ridiculous shows on dealing with dating people and sex and who will be chosen to get the guy, shows with zombies and guts and violence and assault weapons, really no-brained canned-laughter comedy shows, and more war shows then you come up with a good clean medical show with a mix dynamic old and new cast actors and you pull it! Can’t you pull one of the bachelor or zombie or canned comic shows for once and leave something good like Code Black for us older people… Read more »
Code black is one of the best shows out there. why they always get rid of the good ones I will never know- Idiots making a mistake great actors all the way around even the unknowns
I have to admit that Code Black is one of the best shows I watch. I’m looking for good programming and when I find it you take it away. What is wrong with this picture. There are so many directions that you can go with this show and yet you want to can it. If you’re not going to renew it than let Netflix or something like that take it. I want MORE Code Black.
I am 72 years of age and finding something good to watch on TV has become a real problem. I have watched every show of code black and you guys who think you know what the public wants to see are wrong. I am furious over this decison. We don’t need bang theory or momma but you kept those idiot shows, what the heck is wrong with your brain?
code black is a great show! they need to rethink their decision!
Sucky that code black is leaving us one of my favorite shows if not my favorite pity when there’s a lot of other shows that are way worse that stay on the air
Hope someone picks it up
With all the trash reality TV, please leave one of the most inspiring medical show on TV since ER. Chicago Med is good on NBC, but does not compare to Code Black. Great cast, great stories. Come on CBS, your lineup has improved so much. Don’t ruin it, please. CODE BLACK is one of the best shows on. Rob Lowe was a real bonus. Keep it on.
Please do not cancel Code Black It is the best show on TV. It is a show the whole family can watch
