Comedy Central Previews Their Fall 2017 Schedule

by Jessica Pena, August 25, 2017

Broad City TV show on Comedy Central: (canceled or renewed?)

What’s headed to Comedy Central this fall? This week, the network released the fall premiere dates for new seasons of Broad City, Nathan for You, The Jim Jefferies Show, and more.

This fall will also see the debut of Comedy Central’s new TV show The Opposition with Jordan Klepper (September 25). The Daily Show spin-off “will satirize the hyperbolic, conspiracy-laden noise machine that is the alternative-media landscape on both the right and left.”

Check below for Comedy Central‘s full fall 2017 premiere schedule:

NEW YORK, August 24, 2017 – Comedy Central is changing the game up with the number one brand in comedy’s fall programming slate. Jordan Klepper makes his debut as the host of The Opposition with Jordan Klepper on Monday, September 25. Also premiering this fall are all-new seasons of South Park, Broad City, Tosh.0 and Nathan For You, along with new episodes from Comedy Central’s weekly, late night series The Jim Jefferies Show (September 19) and The President Show (September 28).

In addition, Comedy Central will premiere several new short form series including Someone’s In Here, Astronomy Club, VOID, and Vinny & The Colonel and Unsend returns with a new season available for streaming on digital platforms including cc.com and the Comedy Central App.

ORIGINAL SERIES (all times ET/PT)

Wednesday, September 13

South Park (Season 21 Premiere) – 10:00 p.m.

The Peabody(R) and five-time Emmy(R) Award-winning South Park returns with an unprecedented takeover on Comedy Central leading up to the 21st season premiere. Kicking off on Wednesday, September 6th, the eight-day marathon will feature 254 episodes airing all-day, every day until the season 21 premiere on Wednesday, September 13th at 10:00 p.m. With the exception of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah airing during its regularly-scheduled time, it will be wall-to-wall South Park for eight historic days!

Broad City (Season 4 Premiere) – 10:30 p.m.

The hit Comedy Central series Broad City returns with ten all-new episodes beginning Wednesday, September 13. The fourth season finds Abbi and Ilana experiencing NYC in a whole new way: in the dead of winter. In the new season, Abbi and Ilana get new jobs, celebrate their friendiversary, receive a visit from Abbi’s mom, trip on mushrooms, discover their witchdom and travel to Florida (watch: season four trailer). Created by, written by, and starring Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, the critically-acclaimed Broad City follows Abbi and Ilana as they navigate life in New York, capturing their hookups, relationships, crappy jobs and, ultimately, their badass friendship. In the season four premiere entitled “Sliding Doors,” viewers discover how Abbi and Ilana met for the first time on a spring day, back in 2011.

Friday, September 15

Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents (Season Premiere) – midnight & 12:30 a.m.

Formerly known as The Half Hour, Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents… is a weekly series of half-hour stand-up specials showcasing a diverse lineup of comedy’s fastest-rising stars. Filmed at The Civic Theatre in New Orleans, this season features performances from Adam Cayton-Holland, Anthony DeVito, Jo Firestone, Solomon Georgio, Casey James Salengo, Sam Jay, Josh Johnson, Joel Kim Booster, Chris Redd, Yamaneika Saunders, Julio Torres, Shane Torres, and Jenny Zigrino.

Tuesday, September 19

Tosh.0 (all-new episodes) – 10:00 p.m.

Tosh.0 is back with new episodes featuring razor-sharp humor and biting commentary from comedian Daniel Tosh. The weekly, topical series delves into all aspects of the Internet and the social media landscape from the absolutely absurd to the incredibly ingenious. Each episode includes a “CeWEBrity Profile” or Tosh giving subjects of notorious viral videos a second chance to redeem themselves from the embarrassment with which they have become synonymous with their very own “Web Redemption.”

The Jim Jefferies Show (all-new episodes) – 10:30 p.m.

The newest addition to the weekly, late night landscape, The Jim Jefferies Show takes on culture and politics with an unapologetic, honest and international approach. Jefferies tackles the week’s top stories in-studio and travels the globe to far-off locations to provide an eye opening look at hypocrisy around the world. Featuring interviews, international field pieces, and man on the ground investigations, Jefferies covers the most controversial issues, all through the lens of his distinctive brand of comedy. Season one continues with ten all-new episodes on Tuesday, September 19.=

Thursday, September 21

Nathan For You: A Celebration (Original Special) – 10:00 p.m.

The season kicks off on September 21 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT with an hour-long special in which Nathan checks-in with guests from past seasons, called Nathan for You: A Celebration.

Monday, September 25

The Opposition with Jordan Klepper (Series Premiere) – 11:30 p.m.

The Opposition with Jordan Klepper will satirize the hyperbolic, conspiracy-laden noise machine that is the alternative-media landscape on both the right and left. The Opposition is the voice of the new America. It is the America that defines its own reality. It’s the America of paid protestors, Obama’s birth certificate, and the certainty that CNN is fake news. The Opposition with Jordan Klepper will premiere on Monday, September 25 following The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.

Thursday, September 28

Nathan For You (Season 4 Premiere) – 10:00 p.m.

The new season kicks off with all-new business strategies that no ordinary consultant would dare to attempt. In season four, Nathan helps a computer repair shop earn its customers’ trust by hiring a fully asexual staff; devises a plan to sell hot chili at a hockey arena by hiding it under his clothing; and attempts to get around international tariff laws by rebranding smoke alarms as musical instruments. With his unorthodox approach to problem solving, Nathan’s genuine efforts to do good often draw the real people he encounters into an experience far beyond what they signed up for.

The President Show (all-new episodes) – midnight

Continuing in Comedy Central’s grand tradition of producing groundbreaking late night formats, comes The President Show. Created by Anthony Atamanuik who hosts as Donald J. Trump, The President Show gleefully tosses out the rulebook of its predecessors. Trump is bypassing the crooked media by hosting a late-night show direct from the Oval Office. No unfair questions from reporters, no awkward photo ops with German ladies, and no bedtimes. Just a fun show where he can put his unique Trumpian spin on such late-night stapes as desk segments, field pieces and guest interviews. Vice President Mike Pence is featured as his sidekick, played by Peter Grosz. Produced by Clone Wolf Productions and 3 Arts Entertainment, this weekly, topical late night series currently airs on Thursdays at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT. Beginning Thursday, September 28, The President Show will premiere at midnight, following new late night series The Opposition with Jordan Klepper.

Week of Monday, October 16

The Daily Show Undesked Chicago 2017: Let’s Do This Before It Gets Too Damn Cold (Special Episodes) – nightly at 11:00 p.m.

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah is taking the show on the road to Chicago for a special week of shows called, The Daily Show Undesked Chicago 2017: Let’s Do This Before It Gets Too Damn Cold. The late night series will telecast from the Athenaeum Theatre from Monday, October 16 through Thursday, October 19 nightly at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT. This marks the 14th time the series has taken its coverage on the road for a special week of episodes, most recently to Cleveland and Philadelphia for the Republican and Democratic National Conventions respectively last summer.

Friday, November 3

Kevin Hart Presents: Hart of the City (Season 2 Premiere) – 11:00 p.m.

Kevin Hart continues his travels across the country in search of fresh comedic voices in season two of Kevin Hart Presents: Hart of the City. Executive produced by Hart, Dave Becky of 3 Arts Entertainment, Leland “Pookey” Wigington, and Joey Wells, the eight-episode second season will premiere on Friday, November 3 at 11:00 p.m. Hart of the City follows Hart through different destinations from coast to coast as he scouts the local stand-up scenes beyond NYC and LA. Each episode features stand-up sets from a different group of local comedians and round table interviews with Hart and those comedians discussing the comedy climate in their city. Season two visits Boston, Detroit, Jackson, Memphis, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Newark, Phoenix, and Seattle.
