Days of Our Lives fans were in an uproar on Tuesday after a report surfaced that the series was shutdown. The 54-year-old soap opera airs on NBC, and it is one of the few daytime soaps still on the air.
Per The Wrap, cast members on set went to their social media accounts immediately to calm the fans down. The original report came from TV Line, and it said that the producers had released all the actors from their contracts and shut down production on the NBC soap.
Kristian Alfonso jumped onto her Instagram to show herself on the Days of Our Lives set with one of the writers on the show.

Another cast member, Chandler Massey, also went on social media to say that production was ahead of schedule, so the cast and crew was going on a hiatus. With it being the holiday season, a hiatus from production is not out of the question.
NBC will decide the fate of Days of Our Lives in early 2020. It could still be canceled at that time, but for now fans can rest easy. The series has not been canceled yet.

None of our 4 remaining soaps should be touched. Many like myself tape them and watch daily. I am not in to the celebrity talk shows. I know there is a way that you can tell how many still watch them and have fits if one doesn’t air due to the political games going on. Too pathetic. DO NOT MESS WITH OUR SOAPS!!!!!

I too have been watching since I was a kid with my mom – I am 56 now so you do the math! My kids would be so very disappointed if this show was no longer apart of the days of our lives – they so enjoy giving me crap about it! Trust me that Days is as much a part of their life as it is of mine! Truly would be a hole in my heart.

I been watching Days our lives since I was 4 years old with my mother I totally will be upset if they cancel it an if all actors assume dead. They need bring back Brady baby an Kristen dimarire an sonny mother N Jordan an Ben an will. Need be back on soaps like ASAP. I don’t not like how u guys killed everyone . I’ve watched DOOL since I was 12 years old! Thats44yrs! That’s a long time, You ARE my family! I’ve grown up with you, recorded every episode when I was working as a RN, I would be dead dog tired when I got off but I always managed to watch my DOOL before bedtime! Days is my favorite show and I’ve been watching for as long as I can remember. It means so much to me and so does my favorite supercouple.
Do not cancel Days of Our Lives!
So i’ve been a fan since i was a little girl. i’m 59 now, an my daughter and i continue to watch pre-recorded episodes every weekend giving us bonding time. i would hate for the show to end.
I am soooo a fan!! My dad was a fan when he retired and got me interested. He passed away and I am still watching. I am retired now and still kicking so PLEASE don’t abandon me!!!
I watched the soaps when I was little with my grandmother, I know changes have to be made from time to time but I do not like what has been happening to the show this last week . I am 58 years old, I have watched the show since the day it came on int the 1960’s, obviously a fan. I planned my college classes around the show schedule. It will honestly effect my life, I feel these people are family. I am not an old cat lady sitting eating bonbons on the sofa. I am a national sells manager.
