Deadwood fans have some more good news about a possible return of the series – at least in film form. A movie of the much-loved drama has been talked about since the series ended, and it appears that a script has been written!
Kim Dickens was asked about the HBO series when she was out promoting her new one, Fear the Walking Dead, and she offered fans a little hope. She said the following, per Cinema Blend:
“Well, I dunno. I’ve read the script for the movie that David Milch has sent into HBO, so I hope they can make it happen. It’s a beautiful script, it brought tears to my eyes. It was so exciting to hear those voices in my head again. I mean, we didn’t read it aloud, but just to hear those voices while reading it, I just think it would be so great to go back. There’s nothing on the schedule, but I’ve read the script, and it’s amazing.”

My husband and I have watched the Deadwood series several times. It really left us wanting to see more. I sincerely hope they really make this movie for all fans of Deadwood. It has been a long 12 years…..

As a Deadwood resident would be moved to say ” The wound to my mortal being at the sudden demise of Deadwood would be greatly assuaged by the revival, however brief, of it’s constituents”.

One of the best written, most realistically fimed and skillfully acted shows ever on TV. Never has an exceptionally fine ensemble cast had such a worthy script and storyline; Deadwood exibited more depth of plot, and evolution of character, than either The Sopranos, or Game of Thrones. The darkness of the physical Deadwood became almost pastoral, even though the mud and filth never went away, as the characters grew, to be admired and loved. Amazing show, in every regard!
Yes bring it back! Or at lest a good 2 hour movie to really wrap everything up for its fans
I own the entire series on DVD, I was really upset when it was canceled, David Milch is a genius; now with a “Deadwood” film in the future I have something to look forward to!
