Despite the fact that the show’s creator had plans for season three, here won’t be a third season of the Finding Carter TV show on MTV. The cable channel has cancelled the drama after 36 episodes.
On Finding Carter, a teenager (Kathryn Prescott) discovers that her beloved single mom actually abducted her as an infant and she’s reunited with her birth family. The cast also includes Cynthia Watros, Anna Jacoby-Heron, Alexis Denisof, Zac Pullam, and Alex Saxon.
The show’s first season averaged a 0.50 in the 18-49 demographic, with an average total audience size of 1.14 million viewers. Season two saw a sharp decline,averaging 0.29 in the demo with 560,000 viewers.
Co-star Pullam broke the news of the cancellation via Twitter today:

The final episode aired on December 15th and, unfortunately, ended with plenty of unfinished business — Bird was getting an abortion, Rick was beating Ben, and Max was turning himself in for the murder of Jared. Hopefully we’ll get some answers in the future.

What an awful decision to cancel! Great show – great plot lines. What is wrong with MTV? – at least have the decency to give the show a proper ending for its fans . . . shameful . . .
I think this is awful people need closure just give us a 2 hr series finale to wrap
up and tie up any loose ends and finish the plots.anything would be better than nothing.
Renew it. With so much drama and to end season two with people hanging isn’t fair

this was a terrible idea! why would you cancel a show that many people loved? everyone is pretty upset about it. there were so many unfinished stories that we want to know about! why cant you just give the show one more chance? at least let the directors & producers close up the storyline. this is so not fair
Wow, this is very upsetting to end a show like this. The show deserves to have a season 3, it isn’t very fair for the viewers. It was one of my favorite shows and I don’t usually watch a series but I was really into this one. Hope u guys will reconconsider.
Finding Carter needs to be renewed atleast for a season 3. There’s alot of questions that are not answered. It’s not fair to the veiwers!! It’s not their fault the ratings dropped… Maybe they couldn’t watch it! Season 2 was split into two parts. The first part was before Cox switched to digital. The second part was after they switched to digital… So most of us viewers couldn’t find a way to watch it because we couldn’t get the boxes!! First they cancelled Eye Candy. Then they cancel Finding Carter. What the f**** is going on?

Why? This was a horrible decision. Leave fans on the edge of their seat just waiting for season 3 to see what happens and instead you cancel the show? Done with MTV, will no longer be watching the channel.
No finding carter should not have been canceled. Finding carter is an amazing show. My friends and I are very sad that the show is canceled. I want it back. We want it back. Bring finding carter back!
