As Syfy viewers may know, the cable channel is currently airing a pair of science fiction dramas on Friday nights — Killjoys and Dark Matter. Should one or both of them return for another season?
Killjoys follows a fun-loving, hard living trio of interplanetary bounty hunters who are sworn to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad — a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multi-planetary class war. The series stars Aaron Ashmore, Luke Macfarlane, and Hannah John-Kamen.
On Dark Matter, the crew of a derelict spaceship is awakened from stasis with no memories of who they are or how they got on board. Facing threats at every turn, they have to work together to survive a voyage charged with vengeance, betrayal and hidden secrets. The show’s cast includes Marc Bendavid, Melissa O’Neil, Anthony Lemke, Alex Mallari Jr, Jodelle Ferland, Roger Cross, Zoie Palmer, Melanie Liburd, and Shaun Sipos.
Both of these shows are in their second seasons, neither is doing very well in the ratings, and neither has been renewed for a third season yet. Their numbers are about the same and it’s unclear if either will be back at this point.

Please Renew both Killjoys and Dark Matter! I really Love these series.
I love them both, but like every other show that i watch, i record them on my dvr. If they’d properly count dvr recordings, since more people are using dvr’s, less shows would be canned, imo.
I like both shows but prefer Dark matter this season. I’m not sure what’s up with Killjoys this season but sometimes my attention wanders. I think it’s because the humor isn’t there. It can be fixed but of course that won’t happen till next season. Their numbers may be low but they’ve been up against the Olympics and politics… and of course are on Fridays which always has lower numbers so they should be renewed.
Love killjoys. I watch dark matter but wouldn’t miss it.
I currently have 7 episodes of Killjoys on my DVR I haven’t watched but will get around to. As for Dark Matter, it is the only show I watch live and I have roughly 75 timers set. For me it is the best show on tv period. I agree with one of the comments that it needs more advertising. The only thing I absolutely hate about Dark Matter is that they only have 13 episodes a season. We need 24. They should both be renewed. I love sci-fi, sometimes even bad sci-fi 😉
Both are doing better than Wynonna Earp and 12 Monkeys have done and both of those shows got a renewal. I do prefer Dark Matter to Killjoys but I want both to get a renewal.
I got into prior SyFy show Being Human because reruns did occur. They need to air reruns of the two shows to get people into watching
These are the only two decent SciFi shows on right now so I really hope they don’t canx them. I think the biggest problem for ratings is that people don’t know that these shows are even out there. I didn’t until a friend told me how awesome they were. I would recommend spending some $$ on advertising online and social media. That would definitely draw in viewers, especially if you targeted the Comicon audiences.
Like both shows, prefer Dark Matter but hopefully both shows survive. Would be pity if we only left with one space show (The Expanse), although Killjoys “space scenes” are slim to none.
I like the science and story line on dark matter better. I would keep them both going . There is so little actual sci fi on tv . I don’t the the fantasy gore stuff that some how gets on sci fi channels
Both shows should be renewed. They have only decreased 20-30% on neilsen ratings since last year, which is better then the average. Since most younger viewers are watching in different ways and the tv shows are doing pretty good online (with the results i have seen) they should be renewed no problem.
Both series are on the bubble. Neither will finish with the ratings they did last season(which is bad) but if both can finish right near a 0.20 average, they should both be renewed. This is the LIVE RATINGS DON’T MATTER Network, which has renewed shows with a 0.12(12 Monkeys) and a 0.13(Wynonna Earp) average per show. Based on that, both shows should come back. What shouldn’t come back are the idiots running SYFY, and everyone underneath them. They should all be fired.

Killjoys is a different type of syfi show that has both a good story, good characters along with some humor. Too many shows lately are very dark. I look at Killjoys as a small mix of Star Trek, Battlestar Gallactica and originality thrown in. I hope syfy sees some results for the show but Friday is a tough time slot. Thanks to my DVR I never miss an episode –
