It’s official. Deadline reports CBS has confirmed the cancellation of their freshman series Limitless.
Based on the 2011 film, the series starred Jake McDorman, Jennifer Carpenter, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Hill Harper, and Colin Salmon.
Last week, we reported the drama was cancelled after CBS didn’t include it in their 2016-2017 programming lineup. Then, network chief Glenn Geller said the series was being shopped to other networks, but it looks as if plans failed to develop.
Ratings for the show’s first season were decent but low when compared to CBS’ other primetime series. Season one averaged a 1.34 in the 18-49 demo, with a total of 7.049 million viewers.
Showrunner Craig Sweeny confirmed the news on Twitter:
I'm truly sad to report that #Limitless will not continue on any platform. Thanks so much to everyone who watched.

I’ve re-watched this season about 3 times now and I loved it every time! My whole family enjoyed this show and it makes me sad that it was cancelled. For real! BRING THIS SHOW BACK! I want to see how the adventures of the Bruntouchables pan out!
it’s funny. I never seem to catch up to interesting tv until the shows are cancelled. \has been on my list with Netflix for some time now, but finally got around to watching the movie, and then noticed a tv series. I really, really think that those who control such things should bring it back. Excellent show. Has everything; decent plot, action, acting, cast.

Wow what is wrong with you people!! You let lots of other awful shows stay on the are but you are in willing to keep and invigorating show like limitless on!! Jeez! I really liked this show! It’s mind-blowing that such a good show like this gets cancelled and so much other junk stays on TV. You suck CBS!!
Such a good show. Interesting storyline, good acting, likeable/believable characters with more than 2 dimensions, just a really fun show. It was on kind of late but we recorded the entire season and looked forward to watching every episode. Each episode was better than the one before it as characters were developed and the plot became more complicated. Is it really cancelled?!? Who makes these decisions! Dumb, dumb, dumb.
