Why did CBS cancel Limitless? At this summer’s TCA press tour, network chief Glenn Geller explained why there will be no second season of the series, TVInsider reports.
Based on the 2011 film, the drama followed Brian Finch (Jake McDorman), who is given a special drug that unlocks 100% of his brain. The cast also included Jennifer Carpenter, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Hill Harper, and Colin Salmon.
During the panel, Geller said CBS cancelled Limitless because he didn’t “think it connected with the viewers”:
Ultimately we had to look at the show; it was a very good show, but I don’t think it connected with the viewers as well as other shows had. Yeah, we could have brought it back. But we also have to put on new shows and give other things a shot. It could have come back, but we have to do better; we want to improve time periods. That’s why we put on new shows.”

Limitless was by far the best series amongst the my best rated series an it would be a tragic if other people think it wasn’t as good because that would be a lie an its because these people never sat down to watch the TV show properly an they didn’t understand the series like other viewers do like us so please…please…please bring the show back it’s by far one of the greatest.
And if other viewers couldn’t understand the series they really need to look up the original movie to understand what goes on in the show.

I went ahead and checked for season two before starting the last episode and now…… we’ll now the LAST EPISODE SITS UPON MY SCREEN AND KNOWING IT IS THE LAST ONE IS HEART BREAKING. I, as well, just finished watching on Netflix. I loved it. I have no idea what Glen is talking about and have decided that he has no idea what he is talking about either. What a shame.

Just finished watching on Netflix with my wife, both of us “connected” with this show and loved it cannot understand why CBS thought otherwise.
I can’t believe you guys consider the show a bad show or something it’s not worth watching , big mistake.
I loved this show and the cast. Whomever decided that the show did not connect with its audience was mistaken and misinformed. I hope they realize the error of their ways and bring the show back.

Yes, it should have been renewed. Just finished watching on Netflix. How did they decide people didn’t connect? I certainly did. It should be brought back.
I think that lots of especially kids are taking performance enhancing drugs like adarol omg don’t even now how to spell it. I’m older and didn’t have access to these substance enhancements, It’s a touchy subject and THAT is why Limitless was not renewed
Limitless was clever and like very few tv shows, the comic relief of Ike and Mike, the mood of the episodes was great, way better than the movie. I like Jennifer Carpenter from Dexter none of the other B or C horror flicks she’s umm done – the enemy within was alright yet my fiancé and I STILlL cannot find anything similar and he will not watch the science channel or ancient aliens so ugh at a loss! mAKE IT AGIN and make it good please and thank you 🙂 Soooo stupid to not do another season and honestly umm… Read more »
I love this show… it is expansive as well as “human interest” … We need more programming like this that thinks Outside the Box and brings Viewers Outside the Box, We so need to move Folks Outside the Box… Please add more seasons to Limitless. Thank you
I really did like Limitless. I thought the actors did a great job and enjoyed the story. It was also a little scary. Can you imagine if there was a drug out there that could do what it did?
