Why did CBS cancel Limitless? At this summer’s TCA press tour, network chief Glenn Geller explained why there will be no second season of the series, TVInsider reports.
Based on the 2011 film, the drama followed Brian Finch (Jake McDorman), who is given a special drug that unlocks 100% of his brain. The cast also included Jennifer Carpenter, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Hill Harper, and Colin Salmon.
During the panel, Geller said CBS cancelled Limitless because he didn’t “think it connected with the viewers”:
Ultimately we had to look at the show; it was a very good show, but I don’t think it connected with the viewers as well as other shows had. Yeah, we could have brought it back. But we also have to put on new shows and give other things a shot. It could have come back, but we have to do better; we want to improve time periods. That’s why we put on new shows.”

I’ve watched the Limitless season 1 twice. The show is great & I can’t understand why they would decide NOT to continue the show, it had endless Story line possibilities. It’s never too late to bring it back. I have to believe NETFLIX would pick it up!
I watched the series on Netflix and would continue watching it every night, if there was a second season. It’s intriguing, captivating, and also humorous. The perfect combination to unwind to and get caught up in. Today it seems series are better made for Netflix or Amazon, where you can watch episodes at your leisure without waiting a week. It would be smart of Netflix to pick up the second season. I hope they do!
I liked the show really wish it would’ve make a come back for season two bring back the show #savelimitless
I watched the series again for the 7th time and I believe CBS did not advertise the show right. I love Limitless and I want to know about Mora, can the shot be reproduced, will the team ever get to use the pill. SMH I need to know. Netflix, Amazon, AMC, HULU somebody please pick up a season 2.
