Is there still a possible future fo Major Crimes. Recently, creator James Duff spoke with TVLine about the cancellation of the TNT TV show.
As reported earlier, season six will be the last for the crime drama, which stars Mary McDonnell, G.W. Bailey, Tony Denison, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz, Phillip P. Keene, Graham Patrick Martin, Kearran Giovanni, Jonathan Del Arco, Leonard Roberts, Jessica Meraz and Daniel di Tomasso.

In the interview, Duff revealed why they decided to kill of one of Major Crimes‘ lead characters, Commander Sharon Raydor (Mary McDonnell):
As Sharon said to Provenza, many, many people die with this disease, not from it. And we had discussed maybe having her retire for medical reasons. But that left open the chance they she could get a transplant and come back, and the show would not really have a curtain [call]. And if we [killed her off] in the last episode, we felt that would be a dark way to end the whole series.”
Later, Duff said Sharon’s death spells the definitive end for the TNT TV show:
We knew they were going to cancel the show, but we did not know they were going to [announce that] in advance of airing it. What was Mary to do in that situation? If we had left the fate of her character in the air, people would not know she was available. And who am I to coop up Mary McDonnell in a dead show? That does not honor our professional relationship in any way, shape or form.”

This is very good show i van’t believe its cancelled! But this days its trump America so if something good lets destroyed!
I can’t believe “Major Crimes” was cancelled. I think it’s one of the best, if not the best, shows on TV…..the writers and actors were fantastic. I thought this show had high ratings. I will miss all the characters, almost like a death in the family. Wish another network would have picked them up.
I really like this show and the characters. Should not have killed Sharon. Why did she get married only to leave poor Andy. Should not have canceled this show. Boo hoo
I really really like this show and never missed one. Like all the characters and plots. Canceling this is a mistake boo hoo to those who decided to do it. Should have never killed Sharon. Poor Andy why was there a marriage?
This was one of the very few shows I watch. Please bring these characters back!
Did anyone read the summary for the next ep? “A surprise death in the law enforcement community seems to be the work of escaped serial killer, Phillip Stroh.” O.O No way… so he killed Sharon though giving her a heart attack or something?
I am so disappointed in the death of Sharon on Major Crimes. I know the show was ending but why couldn’t it have ended with her being happy with Andy? We are already losing one of our favorite TV shows. Why did you have to kill off one of our favorite characters as well? It just doesn’t make sense. Sad, so sad.

Knowing that the show was cancelled and Sharon sickly, I thought she would die but not this early. Hoping it comes back with most of the same charactors in another form say a private Detective Co.
I hate it that Major Crimes has been cancelled. I was a real fan of “The Closer” and have watched Major Crimes since the beginning. I can’t believe its going away.
I am so disappointed that Major Crimes was cancelled. It was truly one of the (very) few decent shows left on air. Great characters and storylines. With the myriad of shows on TV, my “must see” watchlist is shrinking dramatically!
I am so peeved the show has been cancelled!! It was the one thing I looked forward to on Monday nights. Wasn’t thrilled when they changed the day. Now Sharon is dead before she had the chance to capture Philip Stroh?? That doesn’t seem right. That should have been her baby. I’m really, really going to miss this show.
I feel the same way! I wish that there was a way that all of us fans could convince the stupid network to keep Major Crimes going! I am truly going to miss it!
We are VERY disappointed that Major Crimes has been cancelled! In fact, we are both angry & sad. Please bring it back! DO NOT kill off Sharon! Instead, bring that awful Phillip Strogh back so Sharon can kill him off!

I enjoyed the show . Was the show cancelled for what it didn’t have(car chases, gun battles, cops with AK47s strapped to their chests) or for what it did have( a work place that cared for each other, humorous lines well delivered, smiling actors) ?
Didn’t it hope another Network would pick the show up. But on TNT and also USA most shows end at the season 6. But wish she would have live. She still have Rusty to take care off. Stroh is still out there, thats how the show started.
