Word is that MasterChef Junior may have already been renewed for season six. If so, there’s no worry that the pint-sized cooking competition will be cancelled this time around. But, how will season five perform in the ratings? Stay tuned.
On MasterChef Junior, cooks between the ages of eight and 13 are given the opportunity to showcase their culinary talents and win a title, trophy, and a large cash prize. Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi serve as the regular judges and mentors.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/19 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The fourth season of MasterChef Junior on FOX averaged a 1.24 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.12 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the MasterChef Junior TV show? Do you think it should have already been renewed for a sixth season? Should it have been cancelled instead?
5/15 update: FOX has confirmed that MasterChef Junior has been renewed for a sixth season. Details here.
Episode 12 was a retrospective and should not Be included in the table above.
I would agree with that. Thanks.
I loved, loved, loved this show. But the moment they started shoving up our throats political figures or controversial guests stars… I stopped watching all together. KEEP POLITICS AWAY FROM THE SHOW! Michelle Obama has no business there (I would say the same if Melania was there as well)
