canceled + renewed TV shows - TV Series Finale

Nancy Grace: Series Ending in October; Host Leaving HLN

by Jessica Pena, June 30, 2016

Nancy Grace TV show on HLN

It’s the end of an era. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nancy Grace is leaving her HLN series after 12 years.

Hosted by Grace, the program addresses current issues, particularly true crime news. The show began in 2005 and has garnered both praise and criticism for Grace’s outspoken personality.

Today, Grace told her staff she will be leaving the program in October when her contract ends. Grace later said she will be moving on to a different project involving “a very large digital component.” In her show’s place, HLN will “utilize the expertise of the current team” to produce a new series for the 8 p.m. timeslot.

From Grace:

I will always be wedded to a traditional platform — which is TV, God help me. My plan is to merge those two in an effective way, in my voice, the ‘anti-crime’ voice. Our show has never really been about me. It has been about the stories that we tell and the people we talk about and the mysteries we try to solve and the children we try to bring home. There’s an entire section of our population that I want to reach.”

The finale episode of Nancy Grace will air on October 13th on HLN.

What do you think? Do you watch Nancy Grace? Are you sad it’s ending?

I am devestated that Nancy Grace has been taken off the air. Honestly, Victims have so little advocacy and Nancy brought to light the pain, suffering of crime and the ever so once in awhile the Joy that comes with finding a missing/at risk child alive, or bringing Justice for the family of a murder victim. Shame on You HLN/CNN

What a HUGE mistake HLN!!! You have lost more viewers than you think! Nancy, you know when God closes one door, another opens. You and Mark Klaas should team up with your own show! Thank you for your years of dedication, especially to finding our children. God bless you.

I met Nancy at the Scott Peterson trial along with Beth Karas. She and
Beth were so gracious, kind and approachable. Did get their autographs too!
The defense attorneys she had on her show are most likely her friends off air…I will miss her show …but will watch to see where her journey takes her…

Good, soon to be done! She wrongly accused the father and mother of Jon Benet. Ruined their lives, all for her financial gain. Jon Benet’s mother died, accused of murdering her own daughter-all because of Nancy Grace. Then all this ‘true victim’ manure. A victim is a victim. She acted like she cared for the victim, when it reality she embellished their story for her own gain. She acted as though she tried murder cases and was a seasoned prosecutor–when in reality, all she did was plea bargained misdemeanor charges. A misdemeanor is a step up from a parking ticket… Read more »

Are you kidding? Patsy Ramsey absolutely killed (or covered up for) her daughter. Boulder wanted to indite but favors were made. The ridiculous ransom note’s handwriting was an 80% match to Patsy. The truth, as most have figured, has been coming out more and more in the last year. Boulder is expecting to make new announcements.

*indict (darn auto-correct) While I can’t stand Nancy Grace, she is correct about the Ramseys.

I watched Nancy Grace for many years to get the latest information on top crime news stories. I think many of her crime stories provided a service to the families involved and the general public by keeping those stories in the forefront on the news. After a while, though, I became a little frustrated with Nancy’s constant barrage of interruptions and insults hurled at her (lawyer) guests. It seemed whenever a guest started to express another opinion or point of view, they were immediately cut off with a derogatory remark. I find deliberately trying to embarrass and berate a guest… Read more »

I will Soooo miss her and her show.
I love her blunt, brazen and brash style!
She has always been a wonderful respite from politics and my own problems.
Thank you for your years and God Speed

Nancy, you have done soooo much good in finding lost children and bringing criminals to justice. Please DON’T QUIT NOW. You are such an intelligent advocate for human rights. My only hope is that you are considering a much better and bigger broadcast arena for your stories. You are the greatest Nancy, please don’t leave us victims. I still cannot believe that HLN let our great Jane Velez Mitchell go, she also did so much good in the world. Nancy, please don’t leave your adoring public fans. We love you.

Aaaw! I’m gonna miss her, she was always so sweet trying to nail those criminals!
And who could ever forget that episode when she cut away to a “live satillite feed” only to have the bus that just drove directly behind her show up on the satillite feeds camera? That was priceless!
Yes. Good times, good times, I’m gonna miss you Nancy Grace, you’re the best!
