Though it hasn’t been a ratings success, ABC has kept Nashville on the air. Will the numbers continue to fall this season? Is there a chance that it could be cancelled or is it essentially guaranteed to be renewed for a fourth season (because of potential syndication profits)? We’ll have to wait and see.
The Nashville TV show continues to follow the lives and careers of country music superstars Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) and Rayna Jaymes (Connie Britton). The rest of the cast includes Clare Bowen, Eric Close, Charles Esten, Sam Palladio, Jonathan Jackson, Chris Carmack, Lennon Stella, Maisy Stella, Will Chase, and Oliver Hudson.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: ABC has renewed Nashville for a fourth season.
Final season averages: 1.34 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.16 million total viewers.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a few weeks later.
For comparisons: The second season of Nashville averaged a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.34 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Nashville TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a fourth season?
I totally love this show. They should move it to 9 pm. I believe it would help the ratings and hopefully save this show.
This show is excellent!!! The acting is superb, and the singing (the actors themselves singing), and the actors playing instruments (themselves) is sensational!!! Every single actor/actress who sings has a high quality, amazing voice!!! The stories are great……I can’t wait until the next episode and often sit on the edge of my seat eagerly anticipating each moment of this show. Please keep this show as there are not many shows on tv that interest me. As country music is the most popular music in our country, and for all the reasons previously mentioned, I cannot believe more people are not… Read more »
A wonderful, life affirming, show with excellent music. It deserved many more seasons.
I think this is one of the best shows on TV with wonderful characters and a storyline that keeps me coming back eagerly each week. Last year’s concert tour was so popular that it sold out within hours – seems like an indication of strong viewer support! And it was an amazing show. I wish TV Guide would include Nashville in its Wed. night recommendations as that would entice more viewers.
I can’t understand why the ratings aren’t higher. I love the show and the music–it’s a great prime time soap. It was funny to find out last season that Scarlet and Gunner are actually Australians. Now I listen carefully to them to see if I get any hint of their accent, and I would have never guessed. They’re amazing. The only show Nashville’s been up against is Chicago PD, and we have plenty of cop shows.
Look forward to Weds nite because of Nashville. Love the show and it’s characters.
I always look forward to watching the next episode of this show! Please do not take it off. The acting is terrific and is way better than 90 percent of the primetime stuff on out there!
I feel it is a great show. There is no good shows anymore, put it on Tuesday there is nothing good on tuesday then the ratings will be better. Please don’t take this show away and put some stupid show in its place.
My husband and I both love this show. The music and acting is terrific. Would like more music each week. Sure hope Nashville is renewed.
I love this show! I know so many people that do also I dont understand how the ratings are low. I do wish they would get Deacon and Rayna together and let them be happy for once.
A sure fire way to get a show cancelled…..fill it with lots of bratty children. Way to much focus on the kids lately
I still can’t believe it isn’t a bigger hit show. I just love the characters who I feel are extremely talented. They can sing and act. Recently, Hayden P. was extremely funny
riding around on a scooter looking for Avery. I am totally addicted to the show. Also love Castle.
For me, I have been told How to Get Away with Murder is a show I would never desire to watch. The people who mentioned it to me, have the same opinion on quality in a show as I do.
I love, love, love Nashville. I’m very invested in all the characters. There are so many story lines that still need to be investigated.
keep it on…love that show.
I love the show. Please don’t cancel it.
