In a move that’s sure the alienate fans, TBS has cancelled its People of Earth TV show. There will be no third season, despite the fact that the Turner-owned cable network already renewed People of Earth for season three, back in September of 2017. According to creator David Jenkins, although the third season has been written (but not shot), the People of Earth cancellation is official. Check it out, below.
A TBS sitcom, People of Earth stars Wyatt Cenac, Ana Gasteyer, Oscar Nuñez, Michael Cassidy, Alice Wetterlund, Luka Jones, Brian Huskey, Nancy Lenehan, Tracee Chimo, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Björn Gustafsson, and Ken Hall. The story centers on journalist Ozzie Graham (Cenac) who comes to town to investigates supposed alien encounters. He is soon drawn into an eclectic group of misfits as he finds himself identifying with their experiences.
People of Earth Cancellation Confirmed
Late last month, creator and writer David Jenkins informed fans the renewal was in jeopardy and asked them to send a friendly note to TBS, if they wanted to see a third season of People of Earth.
So, I'm hearing #PeopleOfEarth might not return for season three. If you're a fan of the show (thanks!) and would like to see more, please consider dropping @tbs a friendly note. https://t.co/6F7TWiFATV

TBS seems not to have been moved by fan outreach, as Jenkins relayed the cancellation decision last night.
Just got word last night: TBS has cancelled People of Earth. Thank you to everyone who was a fan of the show and enjoyed its gentle, amiable sci-fi weirdness. It was an honor sharing this show with you. Let's do it again soon. Love you all. https://t.co/QViyRi0RNF

What do you think? Are you a fan of the People of Earth TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season three? Let us know, below.
I am heartbroken that this show was cancelled. It was SO well-written, and the characters & situations were SO creative. The acting was outstanding – so natural, and I loved the characters’ interactions. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen each week. Of all of the new shows I’ve been watching over the years, People of Earth was one that really made me laugh out loud (and I haven’t done that since Seinfeld & Frasier). I wish you could have given it more time to develop its audience. I have no idea how difficult marketing is for new shows,… Read more »
So sad… just figured out the change in status. This was a wonderful, seemingly effortless show. Thanks to all the talent that made it so good. The top rated shows (in general) are just abysmal… Why does it seem such a regular thing that really great shows are getting clipped just as they are finding their audience… and yet the dreck goes on and on…? Will miss this great show.
It took me a while to learn of the cancellation, I was so sure we’d see Ozzie’s return… In an era where the “brilliant TV creators” talk of bringing back Alf, it’s a shame to lose something original. I even got my husband into it; a change from the Alien Whatevers that reveal nothing new. I’ll have the DVDs, but wanted more
So bummed!!! I LOVED that show; it was literally the only weekly show I watched . Is there anything the fans can do? I know it has worked in the past with other cancelled shows…
OMG! Are you kidding me? We loved this show! Very disappointed!
I found out about the cancellation a while ago. I am still annoyed. I suppose it is too late to get the show picked up somewhere else. Since season three scripts were all written, how about making a graphic novel and let us know what happened?
BTW, it was the only show I watched on TBS. Doubt I will tune into TBS anytime soon.
I’ve been waiting for People of Earth to come back on after watching the last episode I’m really upset and very sad that I won’t get to watch such a great group of actors in such a funny and cute show. Please do the last season so I can see how the story and cast go about their lives following the last episodes ending. It was a cliff hanger and you can’t leave the fans or me hanging like that.. . The powers that be who made this not smart move need to re-think their decision about this show. I… Read more »
I’m Ssoooooo sad! And angry! I freeking love this show. I could wait to see season 3! Why cancel something with a cult following. How could you leave us hanging like this TBS!!!
I too was looking forward to a 3rd season of People of Earth and feel TBS made a bad miscalculation in their decision to cancel. Were they not making enough money from the show or was the viewership lower than acceptable?
Nooooo i know im late finding out but i loved this show!!! Quirky hilarious fun, please reconsider!!! Waawaaaaaaa
Dear TBS, Please Renew the ‘People of Earth’ TV Show! It was an amazing and fun show. If you can not please let another station or NETFLIX, etc. pick up the show for future episodes that were recorded and now we will not see. Thank you. ~ Peace, Marc
I really liked this show. I was looking forward to season three and seeing what direction it was going in. This show was different and hilarious. I loved all the characters and the story. It would have been nice to see how they were all connected.
Very sad to not have season 3….I don’t watch many comedies because they’re too much alike.
I don’t really watch much television but this was a show I made a habit of DVRing and catching. The intellectual level of the humor was well above that of anything else I’ve seen in a good long while. How disappointing. At the very least TBS should sell the rights to Netflix or amazon and let them continue the series. It really was a treat in the steaming cauldron crap that passes for television these days.
I agree, it was refreshingly different and full of endless potential. It’s a shame that 700 000 viewers just isn’t enough these days.
This series was just ramping up. It is a huge mistake to cancel this series. What in the h*** are the TBS executives thinking of?
I get it. TV execs have to do what makes them money. But, DAMN! I looked forward to the new season! Both writing and acting was good. It was something different. Hey! Remember……Willard was weird at first too! I am so dissappointed!
