Though NBC’s Persons Unknown is presented as a mini-series, executive producer Remi Aubuchon has said that they’d like to do another season with a new mystery. Unfortunately, with ratings like the show’s been getting, that’s almost surely not going to happen on NBC.
What can you do? Remember, the ideal scenario for NBC is for many millions of people to watch the show on their television sets, while it’s being broadcast. Unfortunately, ratings are put together based on a sampling of viewers. If you’re a “Nielsen household,” your viewing is being counted. If not, it’s not.
However, if you like Persons Unknown and want to see it continue, there are a few things you can do to help.
- If you’re a Nielsen family, watch the show whenever it’s on. If not, watch it on NBC.com or purchase episodes online so your viewing will be directly counted. Encourage others to watch the show. You might know a Nielsen family and not be aware of it.
- Talk about the show with others; at school, at work, online, or wherever. Creating a buzz about a show that you’re invested in gets other people interested and might help bring former viewers back.
- Sign the petition below and encourage others to do the same.
- Order/purchase Persons Unknown: Season One
on DVD.
- Write to the network. Be respectful. Everyone responds better to courtesy. Tell them how much you enjoy the show, that you’ve signed the petition, and that you want to see it continue. I saw this show when I was in high school and loved it, here I am in 2019 wanting to watch the series and only realizing it stopped on season 1 wth!!

Persons unknown should definitely be renewed. Yes it has been 7 yrs, but I believe it would do well and have an audience. I just finished watching it on Netflix and enjoyed it very much, but was greatly disappointed that there was only 1 season, especially considering that it ended with Janet and the others reaching level 2

Renew the show...It bothers the audience when a show they are watching gets cancelled, especially after just one season when you leave it on a cliffhanger. That's just bad business.

Desperately need a 2nd season... There were too many unanswered questions plus season 1 ended with a major cliffhanger that must be addressed. I know its been 6 years but better late than never if you ask me!

Persons Unknown is such an amazing series and I would greatly appreciate it if it would be continued. I know on a lot of sites it says that the producers answered all the questions on season one, but I honestly don't feel they did. I mean who is keeping them hostage and why? How did they really end up there? To me those are big questions that never got answered.

Look I know I might be six years late to the game but I love this show and it has so much potential to be even better. there were so many questions unanswered and I'm so lost I just don't understand how you could've ended the TV series at this point. even Jericho an older TV series decided to end it on a good note or at least answered- please please bring back persons unknown we all need answers.

I was on Netflix and I finished most of my go-to shows. I love watching crime shows so I came across this show. I instantly got into it and wanted to keep watching. I loved it so much I finished the first season in 2 days. Now most of my other shows I wish I could have a say in there being a season 2 for them.
