TNT has renewed their popular Rizzoli & Isles TV show for a seventh season but it will be a shorter-than-usual season.
Rizzoli & Isles revolves around the unlikely but highly effective partnership of police detective Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) and medical examiner Doctor Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander). Lorraine Bracco, Jordan Bridges, and Bruce McGill co-star.
The sixth season of the TNT series is currently airing and is averaging a 0.68 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.23 million viewers. Season-to-season, that’s down by about 20%.
TNT ordered 18 episodes for season six last December — the show’s biggest season — following prolonged negotiations with the show’s producer, Warner Horizon Television. Harmon and Alexander both saw increases in their salaries.
Only 13 installments have been ordered for year seven — Rizzoli & Isles’ smallest episode order since season one. There hasn’t been any talk of that being the final season and word is that the supporting cast will be negotiating for season seven.

Obviously Rizzoli & Isles have many fans who would be very upset to see this series disappear. I am one. dropping a show as well put together and received would be an awful mistake. Vampires, werewolves and zombies OH MY! And whoever thought up the name “Reality” for the mind draining drivel that tries to pass for entertainment is a moron. Please, leave at least this one truly special show alone. Longer would be better also!!
So happy that Roselli and Isles renewed for season 7 I don’t understand why I was shorter but it is a great cop show I love the way the show is and the way it will always be it is the best show on TNT
I haven’t missed an episode of this show since the beginning. Love the cast and look forward to seeing it. Would hate to see it disappear.

love this show please don’t take it off or make it less than it is there are so few good refreshing Mr Ian cop shows on this one really is the top of them so leave it on dont take it off
I was a late comer to the series. I have gone back and watched it on Netflix to catch up and I love the series. Great show with interesting and funny elements to it. I would love more seasons and ordering a lesser amount of shows in just plain stupid and dumb. I wish TNT would look at some of the other shows and get rid of them. The Last Ship and Rizzoli and Isles are the 2 best shows they have on now hands down!!!! Hell, make both shows a good 20 episodes would be great for me since… Read more »

This is such a good show Season 7 should have 18 episodes too, why is it only going to be 13 episodes?
Love this show (Roselli & Isles).. why does networks cancel shows that are really enjoyable and put on reality shows that are silly? cheap labor $$$ want to be celebs making money doing silly stuff. I am so tired of the promotions on TV for RHO….shows. Women screaming, crying and drinking. 90% of the women aren’t real housewives. OR shows where young women and men fall so head-over heels in love with a person (whom they don’t really know) and cry because they are not given a rose. Hello Lois! Bill here. I also watch it on Showcase. It is originally available in Canada, on Superchannel, which I don’t subscribe to. You purchased a season of Rizzoli & isles on dvd. Were there more episodes on the dvds than Showcase aired? It seems that I am missing episodes or Showcase is not purchasing the rights to broadcast all the episodes. Perhaps, you could enlighten me on this Lois?? Thanks. Bill
I love this show. We do not even get the channel which airs it, but we pick up the re runs on Showcase. I also bought the DVD for Season Five. Hope it continues for a long time.

Not shorter! Make it longer. LOVE this show. The chemistry between all the characters is great! You laugh, cry, and just over all get involved. It’s not often you can find a cast that can pull that off. Please don’t let this shorter season be a prelude to cancellation. It would be a loss if it were.
Roselli and Isles is one of the best crime shows on the air my whole family looks forward to watching it every week and it is the best show. I hope TNT renews it for another season and another season after that.
