TNT has renewed their popular Rizzoli & Isles TV show for a seventh season but it will be a shorter-than-usual season.
Rizzoli & Isles revolves around the unlikely but highly effective partnership of police detective Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) and medical examiner Doctor Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander). Lorraine Bracco, Jordan Bridges, and Bruce McGill co-star.
The sixth season of the TNT series is currently airing and is averaging a 0.68 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.23 million viewers. Season-to-season, that’s down by about 20%.
TNT ordered 18 episodes for season six last December — the show’s biggest season — following prolonged negotiations with the show’s producer, Warner Horizon Television. Harmon and Alexander both saw increases in their salaries.
Only 13 installments have been ordered for year seven — Rizzoli & Isles’ smallest episode order since season one. There hasn’t been any talk of that being the final season and word is that the supporting cast will be negotiating for season seven.

I love Roselli & Isles I am disappointed in TNT for running season 7 of shorter season everybody I love knows it’s a great show my brothers my friends my kids it should be run for a full season and even many seasons more to come I just can’t believe it’s a shorter season TNT I don’t know what you have in mind hopefully when you run the season it will be good and you just run a full season
I LOVE Rizzoli & Isles! I hate it that TNT is reducing the number of episodes for season 7! I remember when Angie Harmon was on Women’s Murder Club. That was a great show with lots of promise, but it was never given a chance by ABC! Thankfully, Harmon was snatched up for R&I soon after WMC was cancelled.

Rizzoli and Isles is a great show I always look forward to watching it every week my whole family loves watching it even my brother that isn’t in the cop shows really loved it everybody loves to show I can’t imagine why you’re even cutting season shorter but you gotta release renew it for another season and you’ll see the numbers go up it is a great show don’t let your viewers and followers down renewed for another season.
I don’t think there is a better, smarter TV show and one with such great actors than
Rizzoli and Isles. I have had to miss very few episodes over the years but always made sure to record it or catch it On Demand.
My household urges you to continue the contracts with Rizzoli and Isles. This show has plenty of directions to still explore. Please continue to air R & I. So many people love this show.

Enjoyed by so many people. Given all the inane sit com shows and ridiculous reality shows on all channels , There’s not much good TV available. Keep the one that are good you’ll maintain a smart, well-informed audience!
ONCE AGAIN BIG NETWORKS CONTINUE TO RELY ON RATINGS RATHER THAN FAN INTEREST IN THEIR FAVORITE SHOWS. I NEVER COULD UNDERSTAND THAT. ESPECIALLY SINCE THE RATINGS SYSTEM IS SO UNFAIR AND NOT A TRUE PICTURE OF WHAT VIEWERS REALLY WANT TO SEE ON TELEVISION. I totally agree with you! I never have time to watch any shows live so I always record all of them and watch them another day when I have time. My mother and I are totally hooked to Rizzoli & Isles, we absolutely love all the characters, they are closer and love each other more than any family I’ve seen!:-)
Nicole I agree, love all the characters on R&I. In addition to “family love” I believe the Reagans on Blue Bloods also has great family love & supportive dynamics. Critics don’t give it the love as much as it deserves though, probably because they have a fit about family prayer at Sunday dinners (gasp!) and members expect respect from one another even when they don’t agree with one another–in other words, the way families SHOULD be. I watch shows live, AND taped, old new, and marathons.
Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander is the best actresses on the air I love the show Rizzoli and Isles and you have to keep it on here and I don’t mean just cut the season short a full season and always have the full season for every season next season and the season after that my whole family loves to show so don’t let us down
I’m complete agreement with all of you. Also, this is NOT the 1940s or 50s. It’s 2015, coming close to 16. And the love of family or friends should be able to extend to the LGBTQ family without fear of reprisals or cancellation. It’s not “don’t ask, don’t tell” anymore and the Supreme Court made its landmark, watershed moment about equality. Love this show… if viewership is dropping, it’s because we have to wait so darn long in-between seasons. This a great wholesome family show, I have family members from 8 all the way up to 82 years old and we ALL LOVE IT!! Enjoying current season and look forward to season 7 even if it is shorter.

So agree.we have dvr and have to record some shows and watch later or give in to the later viewing due to the dvr can only recording so many programs that are on at the same time and watch the others later, earlier or at time. Very inaccurate.
Rizzoli and Isles is the best show the TNT is had on the air in a long time I hope am looking forward to watching it every week and please do not cancel it is the best show and we always look forward to watching Angie Harmon’s Sasha both of them are great actresses
18-49 year olds do not rule the world, the internet or television. They would rather be
texting. I love this show.. I know if they drop it, NETFLIX will surely pick it up…
I love this show. It’s not nasty or grizzly, it’s fun and has some family stuff that ties it to most Americans who aren’t serial killers. I am 51 and my mom is 73 and we both watch and really enjoy the show. Maybe there isn’t enough violence for some folks these days, but for my taste it is an entertaining ” crime” show.
I am 59 my husband is 62..we LOVE this show..what does age have to do with anything i am a tv aholic..i watch 12 hours a day most every…i go to sleep with it on..so i expert….Leave this one on. TY
I love this show!!!! Good to see both ladies back on series tv. Bruce has fared well, more so than his MacGyver partner…..I love the Italian family, miss the detective who unfortunately committed suicide. They must have had two seasons ‘in the can’ because it was a long time coming dealing with his passing. New people, Frankie making detective, Korack and Moira her usual finicky self and of course Jane…..the mused up hair (unlike neat and tidy “Law and Order” Carmichael ) tomboy reminds me of myself. Do you actually think the 18 – 49 year olds are the ones buying most of the drug companies products? Most of the commercials seem to be for products that actually will kill you or by attornies telling you to sue if it does.
And, while i’m at it, how about turning down the background sound so we can hear the voices. Post a comment periodically telling people that you are doing these things for their viewing pleasure and you might be astounded at the positive reaction. Just sayin’ !!!
