There’s drama behind the scenes of FOX’s new series Star. TVLine reports showrunner Charles Murray has left the network’s upcoming musical drama.
From Lee Daniels, the show “revolves around three young women (Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady) who form a musical act and navigate the cutthroat business on their road to success.” Queen Latifah, Benjamin Bratt, and Nicholas Gonzalez also star.
Murray is said to have left due to creative differences between Daniels and co-creator Tom Donaghy. Star is slated to premiere in early 2017.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Lee Daniels’ work? Will you check out Star?
I love this show and hope it continues to be renewed. All the characters are terrific and so true-to-life, and “Carlotta” (Queen Latifa) brings in so many of the big names and heavy hitters in the music business. We love watching the young girls growing up in “real time” just as in “real life” and the lessons they learn. Terrific show – Please keep it coming!
