Will the music play on for Sun Records? The CMT TV show recently finished its first season, but what about a second? If renewed, would you keep watching the series?
Based on real events, the music drama follows record producer Sam Phillips (Chad Michael Murray) as he shepherds young musicians Johnny Cash (Kevin Fonteyne), Elvis Presley (Drake Milligan), Carl Perkins (Dustin Ingram) and Jerry Lee Lewis (Christian Lees). The cast also includes Trevor Donovan, Keir O’Donnell, Jennifer Holland, Margaret Anne Florence, and Kerry D. Holliday.
The chances of a renewal for Sun Records are uncertain. The show premiered to a decent rating (for a CMT show) of 0.20 in the 18-49 demo and 971,000 viewers. However, the ratings fell considerably over the course of the eight episodes.
Overall, season one averaged a rating of 0.13 in the 18-49 demo and 585,000 viewers. That’s a considerable drop for a new series on a network that is new to scripted programming. Will CMT risk another season? For now, we’ll have to wait and see.

Please renew second season!! My husband and I loved that show
My wife and I loved this show. It was the first show we looked forward to each week. When we heard it wasn’t being renewed we were devestated and still talk about it often of how great it was. We wish you would reconsider your decision and have more seasons. PLEASE!!!!
Please renew this show, I started taping it and watching while my hubby was at work. It was so good I talked my hubby into watching it. He loved it as much as I did. Please dont cancel it.
This show is a cronicle of American music. Music that made the rest of the world stop in their tracks and listen. It is well produced and the acting/characters are spot on. It would be a shame to a cell it.

I would watch more Sun Records episodes. It felt pretty up in the air when Elvis took off, but there could be more after that.
It never fails, an awesome show is taken off the air! This show is very well written and the actors are right on the money in their portrayal of these real life people. Once again the younger generation would rather watch reality TV which is truly staged. Take it from me, a grandmother, this show is down to earth and I deserve a program from our generation. Renew this show, please!

Dunno what happened there are way worse shows with endless seasons. It was a show we were all looking forward to.
I caught episode 1 on MTV and that was it. CMT is not offered by my cable company and I kept waiting for the show to go to Hulu like Nashville. There are new ways to make money with a show thanks to Hulu and Netflix.
I thought this show was great. I was looking forward to more music from Jerry Lee, Elvis, Johnny, and the rest. Unfortunately I, probably like many others, do not get this channel on my line up anymore. I think if more were able to see the channel, it would have higher ratings. Will be sad if gone.

I love the show and was looking forward to its return. Very entertaining and interesting as to music history and successes by some of the great. Please bring it back for a second season.
