What does the future look like for Timeless? Recently, series co-creator Eric Kripke spoke with Collider about the new NBC series.

The drama follows a group of three unlikely team members as they chase a time-traveling criminal. The cast includes Abigail Spencer, Matt Lanter, Malcolm Barrett, Goran Visnjic, Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey, and Claudia Doumit.

In the interview, Kripke said Timeless hopes to echo early Spielberg movies:

It’s a big, fun, epic, swashbuckling adventure show. We’re very much going for the tone of an early Spielberg movie or a great Michael Crichton novel.”

He revealed the show will be focused on a new historical adventure each week. Kripke also said that while NBC has already ordered 13 episodes, he hopes for 22.

Timeless premieres on October 3rd.
