Power Rangers and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles did it! Now, Voltron is getting their own live action movie! Voltron marked its return to the small screen earlier this year with a new animated series on Netflix. Season two will air early next year.

Deadline reported that Universal is developing the film project. The script for the film will be written by David Hayter, who was behind the scripts for X-Men and Watchmen.

It was revealed that Dreamworks had this project quietly in development. Universal inherited the project in a recent deal with Dreamworks Animation.
