Is all well that ends well? TNT has cancelled its Will TV show after just one season of ten episodes. The decision to cancel the young Shakespeare drama series comes on the heels of last night’s Will season one and unintentional TV series finale episode, “Once, Bright Angel.” The first season of Will premiered on TNT on July 10, 2017.
The Will TV series stars Laurie Davidson as William Shakespeare. The TNT cast also includes Olivia DeJonge, Jamie Campbell Bower, Mattias Inwood, Ewen Bremner, Colm Meaney, William Houston, Lukas Rolfe, Max Bennett, and Jasmin Savoy Brown.

What do you think? Did you watch the first season of the Will TV show? Should TNT have cancelled or renewed it for a second season? Sound off, in the comments.
I must have more Will!!!! So beautifully done! It simply cannot be cancelled!!
This show is very good, very well written, very well played. I do not understand why it would be cancelled. This is geared to the intelligent crowd I guess, not some reality crap like the lemmings watch.
This was an amazing show. Binge watched it, and how unfortunate to find that there will be no season 2. Something amazing actually gets on television instead of all this mindless, reality crap, but gets cancelled before it can gain a following. Sad, Sad, Sad!!!
We must start a petion for Amazon to pick it up. We can’t let Will die.
I’ll be the first to sign!
Yes. How can we do this?
Devastating news. This show was one of the most impressive I’ve seen in a long time. Wonderful cast, fantastic writing, beautiful sets. I will miss it greatly.
Great show. It inspired me to read some of Shakespeare’s plays that I had passed over. People don’t know what they missed.
I loved the series, very sad they stop now…. Excellent Marlowe, all cast perfect, I think that TNT didn’t a good job with this masterpiece.
‘WILL’is an amazing show! It was shown late in the evening and where I live it’s been on at 11 pm for weeks now. That is not a great time to launch a new show. I have made a point of watching every episode and have enjoyed the characters, costumes, and setting. It really is an intriguing show. I’ve recommended ‘WILL’ tofreiends who have said that they can’t stay stay up that late and deal in the morning! Try airing it at 8 or 9 and see if the ratings go up!! BTW, I’m older than the target audience that… Read more »
I cannot believe it! The series was absolutely amazing. I had my friends watching. Such a disappointment it had been cancelled. It needs a second chance with more advertising!! Do I need to do the PR for this show because apparently whoever tried it this first season Failed!
What a dissappointment to hear this is cancelled. I took Shakespeare English in college and loved it. The first time TNT puts on an articluate and whimsical show and it gets cancelled. The cast has been phenomenal, real talent! and so has the storyline- this really sucks to see this show cancelled!
I am not nearly as articulate as R. Arcuri, but I agree with his (her?) every word! I am a “senior citizen” and back in my day I was a high school and college honor student. BUT I had no interest in history; US, World, or otherwise. Then I discovered historical fiction in books, TV, and movies. So many parallels may be drawn between the religious strife in Shakespeare’s era and cultures around the globe today. This series has been enlightening and entertaining. PLEASE, ENCORE!!
What a great series and what a total disappointment to discover that TNT has cancelled it. Amazing cast, beatifully shot as if you’re right there in 16th century London. TNT did not market this show very well and I certainly hope someone else picks it up. There is simply too much story yet to tell!
I was extremely disappointed to learn of the cancellation of “Will.” Looked forward eagerly to each new episode. This was one of the best historical fantasies that I have seen. Excellent character development, a fun and fascinating punk take on society and costume. Empathetic believable characters with just the right mix of historical accuracy and plausable imagined story lines. The social grittiness and sometimes horror was totally realistic To the powers that be please reconsider!!!
Not a surprise. The ratings were terrible.
Maybe because TNT screwed this show from the beginning! They did a horrible job marketing wise and then switched the air time to 11pm! I have recorded every episode on my cable box and couldn’t wait for the next episode. Yet they’ll run Bones on over and over! How many csi shows do we really need? God forbid something historical and witty can keep people entertained these days.
disappointed at cancellation! perhaps if TNT had advertised the show it would have done better. great show – great cast – disappointing network
