Bull: Michael Weatherly Series Picked up for Full Season by CBS

by Jessica Pena, October 17, 2016

Bull TV show on CBS

CBS is committed to Bull. Today, the network announced they’ve ordered a full season of the new Michael Weatherly series.

Based on the early career of Dr. Phil, the legal drama stars Weatherly as Dr. Jason Bull, a consulting courtroom psychologist. The cast also includes Freddy Rodriguez, Geneva Carr, Jaime Lee Kirchner, Annabelle Attanasio, and Christopher Jackson.

So far, Bull is the top-rated show out of CBS’ new series lineup. Three episodes in, the drama has earned an average of 1.92 in the 18-49 demo and 14.058 million viewers.

In addition to Bull, CBS has also given a full season order to new series Kevin Can Wait and MacGyver.

Read more details below:

CBS has given full season orders to three top rated new series, including the #1 and #2 new series, BULL and KEVIN CAN WAIT, and Friday’s #1 new series, MACGYVER.

The three shows, along with the Network’s returning hit programs, have helped CBS win the first three weeks of the season for the eighth consecutive year. In addition, all three have improved their time period, compared to a year ago.

“We’re thrilled viewers have embraced these three shows creatively,” said Glenn Geller, President, CBS Entertainment. “Each one has made an immediate and positive impact on our schedule, while significantly contributing to growing their respective nights.”

BULL, the #1 new program of the season, is averaging 17.32 million viewers, 2.6/09 in adults 18-49 and 3.8/11 in adults 25-54. BULL has improved the year ago Tuesday (9:00-10:00 PM) time period by +18% in viewers, +24% in adults 18-49 and +23% in adults 25-54.

KEVIN CAN WAIT, the season’s #1 new comedy in viewers and key demographics, is averaging 11.26 million viewers, 2.8/09 in adults 18-49 and 4.0/11 in adults 25-54 on Mondays (8:30-9:00 PM). Compared to the year ago time period, KEVIN CAN WAIT is up +10% in viewers, +17% in adults 18-49 and +14% in adults 25-54.

MACGYVER, Friday’s #1 new program, is averaging 11.35 million viewers, 1.9/08 in adults 18-49 and 2.7/10 in adults 25-54, winning its (8:00-9:00 PM) time period in all these measures. MACGYVER is up +55% in viewers, +12% in adults 18-49 and +17% in adults 25-54 compared to the year ago time period.

BULL stars Michael Weatherly, Freddy Rodriguez, Geneva Carr, Jaime Lee Kirschner, Annabelle Attanasio and Chris Jackson. Mark Goffman, Paul Attanasio, Dr. Phil McGraw, Steven Spielberg, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Jay McGraw are executive producers for CBS Television Studios.

On Oct. 24, KEVIN CAN WAIT moves to its new regular time period on Mondays (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT), leading into the series premiere of MAN WITH A PLAN (8:30-9:00 PM, ET/PT).

Yes, I’m very glad the series will return. I’ve enjoyed each show and have gone looking for any I missed in the “on demand” menu of my cable co. It’s a very thought provoking series ad I’ve always liked shows like Law and Order, CSI, Blue Blood, NCIS, Chicago PD, etc. I’ll be a fan of “BULL” until they quit making shows!

Bull: so far so good. Weatherly has the charisma and presence to carry a show. So far other characters are just “white noise”, but hopefully this will improve as the show matures. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I don’t like the show at all . .it does not feel authentic no real acting. No real emotions and totally lacks interest or excitement. Tried to watch full episodes every time on. I just can’t get into this show style. It is lacking creativity and I don’t see it lasting. Shame star is not reaching potential. Stale show , bored already

The theme is getting old fast. It also makes trial by jury appear to be a bad joke. Or as Donald Trump would say, it is rigged.

If it is the top rated show, why after five episodes it’s in reruns and this is just the beginning of November.

I love the show! It’s full of unpredictables and psychology and everyone likes that it’s always different stories. The actors are very good. I’ve always liked Michael Weatherly and NCIS is not the same without him. I guess he would not take a chance on a new show if he did not believe in it. At least he’s got guts and I hope it goes on for many years.
