Chicago Fire has some new company. Deadline reports Rosewood actor Kamal Angelo Bolden has joined season five of the NBC TV series.
Part of Dick Wolf’s Chicago franchise, the drama follows the lives and work of the firefighters, Rescue Squad, and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51. The cast includes Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney, Monica Raymund, Eamonn Walker, David Eigenberg, and Joe Minso.
Bolden will play “Kannell, a charismatic, magnetic, fun-loving, positive, loyal firefighter with a million-dollar smile” during the last few episodes of season five. If Chicago Fire is renewed, Bolden will be upped to series regular for season six.
The odds of a renewal are high. Chicago Fire is still one of NBC‘s top-rated dramas. So far, season five is earning an average rating of 1.61 in the 18-49 demo and 7.311 million viewers.
