Chicago Fire TV show on NBC: ratings (cancel or season 5?)

Unlike most other NBC TV shows that aired last season, the viewership ratings for Chicago Fire were actually up year to year. Could they continue to rise or, will they fall? Could this series be in danger of being cancelled or is it sure to be renewed for a sixth season? Stay tuned.

Chicago Fire follows the lives and work of the firefighters, Rescue Squad, and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51. No occupation is more stressful or dangerous, yet so rewarding and exhilarating. These courageous men and women forge headfirst into danger when everyone else is running the other way. The TV show’s cast includes Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney, Monica Raymund, Eamonn Walker, David Eigenberg, Joe Minso, Yuri Sardarov, Christian Stolte, Kara Killmer, and Steven R. McQueen.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival.
