Do you watch Designated Survivor? Recently, we reported the ABC TV series might be getting a season two renewal. If it does, will you keep watching?
The political thriller follows Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland), a lower-level Cabinet member, who ends up becoming the President of the United States after an attack on the capital. The cast also includes Natascha McElhone, Adan Canto, Italia Ricci, LaMonica Garrett, Tanner Buchanan, Kal Penn, and Maggie Q.
Designated Survivor premiered in September to a strong 2.24 rating in the 18-49 demo and 10.037 million viewers. And while the numbers have declined, the show is still a consistent performer for ABC. Currently, the series is averaging a 1.35 rating in the 18-49 demo and 6.203 million viewers.

This has to be renewed. The subtle (& some not so subtle) situations that speak to our current political climate make this show highly anticipated every week. It has something to say & to make us think which is sorely lacking in the majority of other shows. And what a great cast! So many fine actors all from other shows I have watched through to their ends. Please don’t cancel.
This is a great show, it started slow and took a while for Tom to become a great President but he got the hang of it and the conspiracy is interesting and they found plans for four more attacks the capital bombing was just the beginning. The politics is a bit weird and I hate Kimbel Hookstratten she’s a backstabbing *****. but other than it’s a really great show.
Hookstratten is part of the intrigue. She is good AND bad! Keep it going!!
I’m a huge fan! Bring on season 10! I wish TV Executives would give shows a chance to grow and build before axing them. How many shows can we name that started strong, had a small dip in ratings in season 1 or 2, then had a big resurgence of fans, ratings, writing, acting, etc. (Seinfeld, The West Wing, Scandal, Madam Secretary, and etc.). Give it a chance to grow. Yes, we understand that the competition is brutal with cable, network, and now web-based productions. A couple-three weeks ago, I would have responded with an enthusiastic YES. After the death of (spoiler), the thrilling, chilling, conspiracy has become a background side plot. It’s been nothing but American political maneuvering since then, and there ain’t nothing more boring. Period. In the first half of the season, the politics got a pass because it was weird politics. Trying to rebuild a government from nothing and the like while the conspiracy breathed down their necks. Life and death stakes against hidden traitors is exciting.
