Debi Mazar, Gabriele Corcos Take Family Road Trip Of A Lifetime in Cooking Channel’s ‘Extra Virgin Americana’

Series Premieres Wednesday, March 2nd at 9pm ET/6pm PT on Cooking Channel

NEW YORK – January 26, 2015 – Debi Mazar and Gabriele Corcos hit the highway for a road trip exploring the country’s best food, iconic destinations and local culture in the new eight-episode series Extra Virgin Americana, premiering Wednesday, March 2nd at 9pm ET/6pm PT on Cooking Channel. Joined by their two daughters, Debi and Gabriele kick off their adventure at the Grand Canyon, where they visit a local farm, pick fresh ingredients and cook a delicious meal outdoors with the majestic canyon as their background. Other destinations include the famous Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle, Napa Valley wineries, Portland Lobster Company and Motown Museum in Detroit.

“Debi and Gabriele have been charming Cooking Channel viewers since the network began, and traveling alongside them on a cross-country trip adds a whole new element of entertainment,” said Didi O’Hearn, Senior Vice President Programming, Food Network and Cooking Channel. “In addition to the food, family moments and laughs our audience loves, this series celebrates the local ingredients, culture and culinary specialties of each city.”

In the premiere episode, Debi and Gabriele rent an RV and head to the Grand Canyon with their family, taking pit stops on the way at The Farm at Agritopia to pick fresh ingredients and play with the pigs and chickens; eat with the locals at Liberty Market and fill up at one of the oldest gas stations in the area. When they arrive at the Grand Canyon, they take in the incredible view and prepare a delicious meal in the great outdoors. Upcoming destinations include Seattle; San Francisco; Portland, Maine; Cape Cod, Massachusetts; Detroit and Austin.

Debi Mazar and Gabriele Corcos are authors of the best-selling cookbook “Extra Virgin: Recipes and Love From Our Tuscan Kitchen” (Clarkson Potter) and own The Tuscan Gun, an eatery and shop in Brooklyn, New York. Debi Mazar is an acclaimed actress who made her feature film debut in Martin Scorsese‘s Goodfellas. A native New Yorker, she is best known for her outstanding portrayals of edgy, sharp-tongued characters on film, television and stage. Her extensive onscreen work includes films with legendary directors Woody Allen, Michael Mann, Oliver Stone and Spike Lee. She also starred in her own television sitcom Temporarily Yours and is known for her role as hard-charging publicist Shauna on the HBO series Entourage, reprising her role for the 2015 film of the same name. She currently stars on the hit TV Land series Younger. Debi has always been interested in cooking and well-known among her friends for her fabulous dinner parties. Since getting married and becoming a mother to her two daughters, Debi’s passion for food and cooking has grown even further. Born in Florence, Italy, Gabriele Corcos was raised in the Olive Country of Fiesole. His grandmother and mother taught him everything he knows about Tuscan food and traditional farmers’ cuisine. Gabriele has an insatiable fascination with food, a love for organic ingredients and foremost a determination to feed his wife and children in the healthiest and most natural way he knows… the Tuscan Way. After living in Los Angeles for several years, Debi and Gabriele moved to Brooklyn, New York to raise their children. In 2015, Gabriele brought his authentic and rustic culinary style to a 25-seat eatery in Brooklyn called The Tuscan Gun, which in addition to serving Tuscan fare, offers takeaway items and private events.

Thoroughly enjoyed the original Extra Virgin show and my vote would be for it to continue – especially enjoyed episodes in Tuscany. The Americana series was good but the original was special and would love to see more. !!!
