What’s This TV Show About?
The Humans TV show takes place in a parallel present, where the latest must-have gadget for any home is a Synthetic. But what happens when these Synths are given the right to consciousness and their own free will? The AMC cast includes Gemma Chan, Emily Berrington, Colin Morgan, Ivanno Jeremiah, Katherine Parkinson, Tom Goodman-Hill, Lucy Carless, Theo Stevenson, Pixie Davies, Carrie-Anne Moss, Marshall Allman, Neil Maskell, Ruth Bradley, Will Tudor, Sonya Cassidy, Sam Palladio, Bella Dayne, and Letitia Wright. Season two picks up with Niska (Berrington) still at large and in possession of the consciousness code. Her Synth family (Chan, Morgan, and Jeremiah) is unaware of her location, with each trying to find their place in the world. Meanwhile, Joe (Goodman-Hill) and Laura (Parkinson) attempt to mend their marriage.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of Humans averaged a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 462,000 viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 65% in the demo and down by 61% in viewership. Learn how Humans stacks up against the other AMC TV shows.
Telly’s Take
In its first season, Humans was a middling performer. Because it is a co-production between AMC, UK Channel 4, and Kudos, that defrays some of the cost, which means the show has a lower ratings bang-for-buck threshold. I suspect that AMC will want to partner to renew Humans for a third season however, the big drop in ratings is not a good sign. We’ll have to wait and see. Stay tuned for updates.

One of the first shows I’ve ever DVR’d because I’ve enjoyed watching it so much. I hope, hope, hope it gets renewed… but usually shows I love don’t.
I hope there will be a series 3,I love the show but…Last night(season final)as not good.It was very disjointed and well not up to its fantastic standers.Ij fact the last 5 mins made no sense and.Is he dead?The very end were Annetta grabed the paramidic bag was just awfully.Sorry but true.

Please renew HUMANS! It is such a well acted, well told story and I would really further enjoy what happens NOW that all the Synths are conscious. So glad that Hester is GONE! She was one bad apple. I love the fact that 2 episodes were being shown back to back . There needs to be more advertising done for this show like they do for AMC favs like The Walking Dead, Better Call Saul and Fear The Walking Dead.
Couldn’t agree more with your opinion about Hester. She turned into the most-despicable/-dangerous antagonist of the season very easily, which disappointed me a lot. So much so that I’d started to not give a d––n about any point she mouthes and was just praying to get the show rid of her ATE before any other well-bred *REAL* human becomes her next-target. That was such a downer for me! She was the exact carbon-copy of a classic, cliche* psychopathic-lover girl who can go to any extent to extract what she wants. Please renew “Humans” for a third season- it’s a fascinating and extremely timely show.
This is the best show ever!!!!!!!! Right up there with Walking Dead. Give the smart people something good to watch. It needs better advertising. I’ll bet no one who actually has seen it would intentionally stop watching.
I love this show. Its a very interesting look on the possible future of humanity & machines. The characters are great and the storyline is very compelling. It would be a shame not to continue with this show. I certainly hope that they continue the series. I didnt see any of the first two seasons when they were originally released. But when they reshowed them i fell in love with it. Especially Mia. I REALLY love her character. Shes the smartest, most loving, and caring of all the synths. The drop in ratings is due to the fact, that they take freaking forever to start the next season, by then everyone has done forgotten about the show! They need to renew it within a few weeks before it even ends to keep the public entertained!
Good show. Better than “Westworld” in some ways. Hope it gets renewed.
I hold no hope for season 3 because every show I like gets canceled. The Lottery, The 4400, etc. I read some comments that the show is “slow”. America is too used to fast, violent action and will not sit still for good stories. Season 3 for those of us that are “special”!
“Slow”, as in what?? Like those 22-24 episodes per season series?? On a serious note, though, this series (read season) indeed felt like a drag, IMHO. The first season was a drag, too but not as much as this one. It was fresh, new so every development was interesting as it taught something about the show, and even though the likes of picky “critics” must have found their Gold in [‘bombastic’] Episode 6 which was too-much on information and less on drama, this season is neither adequate on information nor good-drama.
