It looks like TNT is committed to airing what they consider more “edgy” content. They’ve renewed their low-rated Legends series for a second season of 10 episodes.
In the same day ratings, the first season of Legends averaged 1.53 million viewers with a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Those numbers are significantly lower than those of Perception and Dallas — two shows that were recently cancelled.

TNT Orders Second Season of Hit Drama Series Legends
TNT has ordered a second season of its exciting drama series Legends, starring Screen Actors Guild Award® winner Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, The Lord of the Rings). The show is a key part of TNT’s ongoing expansion into high-quality genre fare, which also includes the summer blockbuster series The Last Ship and the upcoming series The Librarians. Legends is produced by Fox 21, with Howard Gordon (Homeland, 24) serving as executive producer. TNT has ordered 10 episodes for season 2, with plans to launch next year.
Legends is based on the award-winning book by master spy novelist Robert Littell. In the series, Bean plays Martin Odum, an undercover agent working for the FBI’s Deep Cover Operations (DCO) division. Martin has the uncanny ability to transform himself into a completely different person for each job. But he begins to question his own identity when a mysterious stranger suggests that Martin isn’t the man he believes himself to be.
The first season of Legends averaged 3.2 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery. When viewing across TNT’s multiple platforms is factored in, the show’s reach jumps to 6.5 million viewers through linear telecasts, DVR viewing, set-top VOD and digital on-demand.

Wow, this is a great show. I never even heard about it and happened to come across it on netflix. I hope this show goes on for multiple seasons. If it does not it is from lack of advertising, This really is a great show. it.
Really enjoyed the first season, but the 2nd season is a big disappointment. The expectations left open in season one’s finale have yet to be rewarded in season two’s first three episodes. It’s almost like watching an entirely different show and am about to stop watching altogether. It’s a shame… really!

The best tv show I’ve seen in years. When 24 tv series ended I thought I’d not find anything close, but Legend has done it. Sean Bean does his character with so much depth. I sometimes wonder if show is actually based on a real life Legend!?
