It looks like TNT is committed to airing what they consider more “edgy” content. They’ve renewed their low-rated Legends series for a second season of 10 episodes.
In the same day ratings, the first season of Legends averaged 1.53 million viewers with a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Those numbers are significantly lower than those of Perception and Dallas — two shows that were recently cancelled.

TNT Orders Second Season of Hit Drama Series Legends
TNT has ordered a second season of its exciting drama series Legends, starring Screen Actors Guild Award® winner Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, The Lord of the Rings). The show is a key part of TNT’s ongoing expansion into high-quality genre fare, which also includes the summer blockbuster series The Last Ship and the upcoming series The Librarians. Legends is produced by Fox 21, with Howard Gordon (Homeland, 24) serving as executive producer. TNT has ordered 10 episodes for season 2, with plans to launch next year.
Legends is based on the award-winning book by master spy novelist Robert Littell. In the series, Bean plays Martin Odum, an undercover agent working for the FBI’s Deep Cover Operations (DCO) division. Martin has the uncanny ability to transform himself into a completely different person for each job. But he begins to question his own identity when a mysterious stranger suggests that Martin isn’t the man he believes himself to be.
The first season of Legends averaged 3.2 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery. When viewing across TNT’s multiple platforms is factored in, the show’s reach jumps to 6.5 million viewers through linear telecasts, DVR viewing, set-top VOD and digital on-demand.

Love the series. I found the show through Netflix. I thought it was a full feature film. So I was surprised that it was a tv series. I vegged out and ended up watching the entire 1st season over the weekend. Anyone who loves 24 will love Legends. How come I know about the Last Ship but not Legends. Marketing??
Thankful that season 2 is available soon! I don’t understand why this show would have low ratings at all! It is honestly one of the best shows I have watched next to black list, which in my option should be better than blacklists ratings. I never got bored with this series at all unlike blacklist which just dragged on endlessly and made me lose interest. Please keep it going! It will be well worth it!

SUUUUPER Excited to see that ‘Legends’ will be having another season! I watched even as they filmed in my neighborhood, met ppl on the set and ate millions of snacks! But to be honest, I really liked the storyline of the show as well as the acting (Sean Bean, Ali Larter, Morris Chestnut, Amber Valletta, Tina Majorino, Steve Harris). I hope the show will do so well that ABC or NBC will take it up for a 3rd!

Please continue the Legends series, and make Season 2 and beyond, available on Netflix. LOVE this spy thriller, and the very subtle plot twists (Deputy Director !- I did not see that coming!!) Great Show!!!
