TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
This show need to be renewed, We renewed our membership with Netflix just to watch the new season.
This is what tv should be. I’m a big fan of BBC because they have realistic stories with real people same as Longmire. I’m tired of the cosmetically perfect actors running around with unbelievable story lines.
One of my favorites!
I think that Longmire is a great show, as some others have already mentioned,I was also hooked even before the end of episode one. I would give it a solid A+ As d Graham said “rating, from the script-writting to the acting, and also great Characters, and would love to see it run for a long time, as it has so much potential and enough to keep it interesting for a long run. Please keep airing it for as long as possible, THANKS”
My husband & I really enjoyed the series. Was sad to see it end. Totally agree with Carroll Gaddis’ comments.
I love the show, it would be great to see how Henry runs the casino and how it will help the tribes. The story between Longmire and Vic would be sweet to explore if written well. Also to see the tribal police joining forces with Walt is brilliant, working together! Come on Netflix! Get another season written up! 2018 is awaiting!
I would greatly appreciate a 7th season. Even an 8th, 9th and 10th season. It’s a great series!!
I think its a shame that the program was cancelled – it was my favorite. It reminded me of my father, a deputy in western Montana at the turn of the century. I’m 80 years old and loved it.
Thoroughly enjoyed the series. Cady could takeover and Walt could come back from time to time to help or straighten things out. The story should continue.
Should it go another season my wife says “Yes, please!”
Love this show! Do renew this! This show doesn’t rely on high tech but real detective work. It still shows core values such as loyalty, respect and honesty.
Great show. I agree that there seems to be an abundance of nasty law-breaking activities and as my husband and I “marathoned” the last 2.5 seasons, we had to laugh at the number of times Lou Diamond Phillips’s character was covered in blood and close to death. Also…not a fan of Vic. We keep the closed caption on most of the time–just a habit. She continually is clearing her throat and with the cc, it tells you when she does it. We just began a running joke…”clears throat”…with Vic. Also, NO, NO, NO way she and Longmire should have done… Read more »
Love the show. Would like to see more. Disappointed that Walt and Vic got together. Seemed more like a father-daughter relationship and should have stayed that way.
I love this show. I’m sad to see it go.
I liked the final episode. Sad to see it end though. I can only hope they continue filming. Lots of action and drama with a new set of characters in place on an open ending. This makes it where the current production company or a new one can take over where they left off with the new characters. And the ones who are riding off into the sunset can. Then it will be up to them to see if Netflix or someone else will air the new series.
Please keep this show alive . It is the ONLY reason we have NETFLIX!!
