TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
I think I will have to boycott a&e. That is one of the best shows on tv. What are the thinking!!!!
Growing up in small town america was great, it gives you time to think on things. Losing the show is a sign that corporate tv has lost touch with it viewing public. I will look for Longmire to appear on a different carrier. A&E does not listen to the public.
Longmire is a really good show and should be renewed. I am very disappointed that A&E has decided to cancel it. I would urge them to reconsider.
Longmire MUST BE KEPT, it is a great series. The networks need more shows like this.
I made my hubby give up Pro football for Longmire. IT BEEN CANCELED-HOW DUMB>
this is ridiculous, one of the best shows on tv.
What’s the matter with A&E . Don’t they know a good show when they have one?
I cannot believe that my favorite show has been cancelled! It is truly a treasure of a show. I hope someone has enough sense to reverse this decision or another network picks it up. It is too good of a program to lose.
A&E executives, you have just cancelled the only show my family watch together. I hope one of the major networks takes this program and makes you and your sponsors regret it..
This is the only original show I watch on A&E. Your reality series are a waste of my time so I don’t watch any of them. I guess the only thing you have left to offer me are the prime time reruns of some of the great series. I also patronize the sponsors of the show I like and wish everyone else did too.
Shame on you! With all the crap on TV, you cancel a show that is great top to bottom!
It’s hard to imagine canceling such a fine show, while embarrassments like the “Walburgers” and “Duck Dynasty” still waste airtime. There is absolutely NO REASON to watch A&E anymore.
I truly think you’re making a terrible mistake. Everyone on Longmire are strong and clear characters that make the series so interesting. Please think of another way to save money and keep the show on the air!
they have canceled one the very best shows on tv. great acting. great directing. great writing. hard to beat this rare combination. a real gem of a show. what the hell are they thinking at A&E.
I’ m shocked that so many love this show and it is canceled does A&E know what is good????? Please someone pick up this show.
