TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
A&E has made a major error in choosing to cancel this show. The demo’s are all full of crap. The show was well acted and well written, and was appreciated by a segment of this country that may be aging , but has a lot more money left over after buying a six pack of beer. Good luck appealing to that demographic. I’m sure the ads for bankruptcy lawyers and pawn shops will come flowing in, but count me out. I will look for a network that has the intelligence to stick with quality.
This show has to come back all networks and streaming video company’s should pick this one up
saving a buck is law to these idiots, what we want use to count, not anymore. Longmire is better than 3/4 the crap that’s on TV. renew it and make us all happy 🙂
Great unique type show that should continue
TV needs more shows like this not less.
Finally a well written and interesting show that we looked forward to every week and it gets canceled. Versus all of the other mindless programs that were not canceled, this is sheer stupidity on your part!
Renew – definitely. Well done and the basic reason that my family checks into A&E.
keep the show on – I want to know what happened to Branch – it was a great series!
I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHO DECIDES WHAT SHOWS ARE TO BE CANCELLED. THIS SHOW, IN PARTICULAR, SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN CANCELLED. I GUESS THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE: NO SEX, NOT ENOUGH BLOOD AND GUTS. FINALLY, A MODERN WESTERN AND YOU DECIDED TO ELIMINATE IT. YOU PEOPLE ARE NUTS!!!!!
You are soooo bringing us down! My husband and I love this series and look forward to finding out what is going to happen next! You need to bring back this great show – not to mention it has really good actors, interesting stories and mystery!!! We can’t name another show that comes close to it. We don’t know what you could be thinking!
What in the hell is wrong with you people? You get a decent show for a change and then you cancel it and put on garbage in its place. BRING LONGMIRE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why do networks think that all people are enthralled with other peoples screwed up lives. tTelevision is an entertainment medium not a wallow in peoples so called private lives, and we all know that these REALITY SHOWS??? are rehearsed and are just another lets fool the fools who watch them. Longmire is one of the best shows along with Blacklist, that has come along in a long time. Goodbye A&E.
All I can add is that it IS a good show, great actors……….Why would you cancel it?
I looked forward to watching “Longmire” every week. Please explain why this successfully popular TV show was cancelled!!!! It was well-written and the actors were all excellent. The ending of the last season left its devoted fans with a cliff hanger which we want to see resolved. PLEASE bring this show back!!!!! I sincerely hope and pray another network will pick it up .
Why in the world would this show be cancelled?????? It is one of the best shows on television!!!!!!!!!!
how could u
You have absolutely zero taste in shows to cancel this one. What a big mistake you are making. I have many family and friends that feel the same way. Like in “Pretty Woman” Big mistake, huge. You will in turn replace it with something very similar that is already on another network. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
