There’s a lot of data that MTV execs look at when deciding whether to renew or cancel a TV series but ratings are a major factor. Here’s an updated listing of all of their recent/current primetime scripted shows.

A couple of notes about these charts:
These figures are updated automatically as new ratings are released (usually a day or so after the broadcasts). The averages are based on the final national numbers (live plus same day viewing). For technical reasons, I have to resort them manually so feel free to let me know if I missed something.
The demo numbers, which are typically most important to the broadcast networks, aren’t quite as vital to cable channels because their audiences are usually much smaller. Demo numbers are typically reported using the 10ths decimal place (2.4, for example). In the averages, I’m using an extra decimal for easier ranking.

Time to think about what Teen Mom2 and Teen Mom OG is offering to the young women following these shows…..the show tonight was an embarrassment to say the least!!! The original idea was outstanding…I was a single mom back in the 70’s before it was fashionable to do so…I would have appreciated a show like this to relate to…unfortunately I see this has taken a serious turn and the behavior of these women is not setting any decent example to anyone…I won’t be watching anymore…I don’t need to see bad behavior …there is enough of it on the news nowadays…MTV… Read more »
When is Mtv going to change their name seeing how they hardly play videos any longer and the show they play are pretty lame as well they should have stuck with playing music instead of what they have turned into..

Nnnnooo all my favorite shows are no more awkward, faking it, teen wolf, and finding carter i now have no reason to watch mtv and i dont think i will in the future considering they cant seem to keep a show going ill just end up heart broken again sorry mtv but im breaking up with you lol ✋

Shocked to see Scream doing so poorly. That said, it has the Netflix back end deal, so a lot of people know they don’t HAVE to rush to the TV to see it when it comes out because it will be there 24 hrs later.
I would like to see scream have at least one more season to tell us wht happened to Emma at the barn when she was little and wht r the new cop and her mother keeping secret of plz just one more season to many unanswered questions
I can’t believe scream is rated so low. Scream is one of the best shows I have watched and I watch it every Tuesday it comes on. Sometimes I have to record it because I’m not home.. But I hope on everything they are going to continue they show with a season three.. My girlfriend my sister and I all love the show and I would be so upset if it got cancelled
I am shocked Scream is not doing better though I did watch the first season on Netflix and I buy every episode on iTunes. I love this show. I loved the movies and the series is a great new idea and well done. Please renew, at least one more time.
I am also shocked because scream is an awesome show and I am hoping for it to continue because season 2 is fantastic and the finale is almost here
MTV now only has 2 shows out of the eight, with Scream still depending on a cancellation or to be renewed. This is sadly depressing because all of them are great, and with the last season of Teen Wolf they’ll only have one series still running. And apparantely they’re not even considering creating new ones. This is just sad….

NOOOOO!!! Faking it is an awesome show. I personally watch online bc im a highschool closeted teenage girl who couldn’t afford cable and this show helps me a lot. I feel like it connects with me in an emotional level. I binge watch the 2 seasons that i didn’t get to pass my schoolworks on due date and didn’t get enough sleep that day, that’s just how much i love this show. PLS RECONSIDER!!
Ahhhhhh… Scream ratings are down. First they ruined Finding Carter now this will be cancelled.
