Netflix has cancelled Sense8, and fans aren’t the only ones upset. Recently, the cast of the TV series reacted to the news.
From the Wachowskis, the drama follows eight people from different parts of the world who are mentally connected to each other. The cast includes Tina Desai, Miguel Angel Silvestre, Jamie Clayton, Tuppence Middleton, Donna Bae, Brian J. Smith, Max Riemelt, and Toby Onwumere. Season two just premiered in May.
On social media, stars Brian J. Smith, Freema Agyeman, Toby Onwumere, and Jamie Clayton addressed the cancellation of Sense8. It’s unclear why Netflix axed the series, but according to Smith it was a combination of low viewership and high production costs:

It talky sucks. This show was fabulous. Even the villains are wonderfully cast. I loved it from the first episode. I hate to sees it go.
No!!!! The story was just starting to hit its stride!!!!
I’m devastated that I won’t get to see how the story of the wonderful sensates continues. Sense8 to me was the most profoundly beautiful show I have ever seen! In every episode there came a point where I was moved to tears and felt like writing a “Thank you”-note to the Wachowski, the actors and everyone involved in bringing something this special to life. Please, Netflix, reconsider!
Am really disappointed to read Sense8 has been cancelled. Really wanted to see how the story played out. Come on Netflix, even if it’s a one off special, have to know what happens to the characters!
I’m stunned. I just finished season two. How can you cancel this? Finally something creative and different that is not just the rewashing of Hollywood’s ideals. Please don’t do this.
I love this show. Why bother watching Netflix if they are just like regular tv and get rid of shows that the fans love because of the almighty dollar. Care about the fans.

The low viewership could be because Netflix didn’t do much promotion for the series. I ran across the show skimming through the Netflix originals when I was bored one day.

I too found this show by accident and loved it! I wonder how many other people would watch Sense8 if they only knew it existed?? Netflix, please reconsider and give it some promotion!!

So unbelievably upset this series is being canceled, I truly cant understand why they wouldn’t keep it going and how they could leave it with such A cliffhanger
Netflix is straying from their original plan and making too much original content, which is costing them too much. They have made real bad choices like Marco Polo. And questionable ones like a second season of 13 reasons why. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a lot of Netflix content. It was also a place where shows without a home could go, like Arrested Development. I may not watch that show, but I did not ask to cancel it. If you do not put back on, other channels will take other this.
What are you talking about? other chans are cancelling their shows as well as netflix. nobody wants a dead show.
You are aware of how expensive this show is to produce, right? Other networks will simply not pick up ‘Sense8’… That’s not really how this works anyway.
I watched all of the episodes and enjoy them all, but it could be hard to follow at times. You have to please the fans and some people that watched an episode or two might of gone elsewhere since there is so much to watch on Netflix. I would have watched a new season, but am well involved in other series now, so should be OK. Most of the other shows that I watch on Netflix are easier to follow then Sense 8, but I still liked it and watched it. It probably would have not made it through one… Read more »
