Snap Decision is a new game show coming to GSN. Actor and comedian David Alan Grier will host the new series, which will premiere in August.
GSN revealed more about the new series in a press release. Check that out below.
“GSN, the leader in game shows and competitive entertainment, announced today the premiere of SNAP DECISION, a new comedic half-hour game show series hosted by actor and comedian David Alan Grier (“The Carmichael Show“). SNAP DECISION is produced for broadcast syndication in a joint venture with Tornante-Sinclair LLC and asks, “What can you tell about a person just by looking at them?” It will debut with four back-to-back half-hour episodes on Monday, August 7 from 9-11pm ET/PT (8-10pm CT) on GSN, and then will move into its regular Tuesdays at 9:00pm ET/PT (8pm CT) time period the following night, August 8. It will have a unique air schedule, as it can also be seen weekdays on 20 Sinclair stations nationwide beginning August 7 (check local listings for exact times and stations).
SNAP DECISION is a new comedy game show created by veteran producer Scott St. John (“Match Game,” “Deal or No Deal”) that puts preconceptions, first impressions, and gut instinct to the ultimate test. Studio contestants go head-to-head for a $10,000 grand prize as they are asked to make snap judgments about three strangers, recently interviewed on the street. However, looks can be deceiving, as people are often not who they may seem, leading to unexpected twists, turns, and outrageous and hilarious results.
At the center of all the action is three-time Tony(R) and Grammy(R) Award nominee David Alan Grier. Although Grier’s acting career is rooted in live theater, he has since also made a name for himself in the world of television. He is currently starring in his third season of NBC’s “The Carmichael Show,” and is also known to TV viewers for his recent role as the Cowardly Lion in the critically acclaimed TV movie “The Wiz Live!” for which he earned two Image Awards and two Critics’ Choice Awards nominations. Most notably, he was an integral cast member of the classic and groundbreaking hit variety television show “In Living Color,” and was named among Comedy Central’s list of the “Top 100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time.”
“I think we can all agree David Alan Grier is really really really funny and we are lucky to have him as the host of the show,” said Amy Introcaso-Davis, executive vice president of programming and development, GSN. “David’s brand of satiric observational comedy, coupled with his massive improvisational skills are the perfect complement to this highly addictive format.”
“Building an original game show franchise requires new thinking,” said Arthur Hasson, COO of Programming at Sinclair Broadcast Group. “Great game play and a great host are wise starting points and SNAP DECISION boldly checks these boxes. We are excited about the prospects of having this show air on both broadcast and cable platforms, and we believe that this unique new model offers multiple opportunities to build the brand.”
“Scott St. John and his team have created a very funny game and the viewers will love to play along,” said Lauren Corrao, Co- President, Tornante TV. “With its comedic take on challenging human nature to prejudge other people, SNAP DECISION will ultimately help fade the lines that separate us and encourage us to be more accepting of our differences.”
The show is co-produced by GSN and Tornante-Sinclair LLC. Executive producers are Scott St. John and Lauren Corrao.

No, I will NOT be watching! We teach our children to NOT judge people by the way they look, and to NOT be bullies. How can we expect them to learn when adults put it on TV, making it seem perfectly “okay”!
I find it quite ironic that a black man is hosting a show that is clearly about nothing more then prejudice
When white men host game shows, I guess you are more excepting, right.
What are you saying, this is a game show about people guessing what real people are telling about themselves, you get to play a guessing game to try to win cash money. There is no harm to anyone.
