TrekCore reports Kirsten Beyer is joining the writing staff of the upcoming Star Trek TV show sequel, for CBS All Access. Beyer has written eight Star Trek: Voyager novels, set after the crew’s return from the Delta Quadrant.
TrekMovie.com says, “Beyer is known for her knowledge of Trek canon and for her ability stay true to canon.”
The author has been praised for her knack with tying disparate bits of Trek continuity together in her novels, tying relatively obscure or one-time events from the Voyager television episodes into her writing, and may bring a similar skill set to the Trek 2017 writers room.
If you haven’t followed the Voyager relaunch series, you can get caught up with Beyer’s Voyager Relaunch Primer, written by the author for TrekCore covering her first four books….
What do you think? Are you getting excited for the CBS All Access reboot of the Star Trek TV series? Does the addition of Beyer to the writing staff tempt you to subscribe to the platform, in order to watch?
With Bryan Fuller (DS9 and Voyager), Nicholas Meyer (ST II: The Wrath of Khan), Joe Menosky (STNG) and Voyager novelist Kirsten Beyer – this new Trek Series is shaping up incredibly well. The question still is, of course, will it survive and transcend its distribution solely on CBS All Access?
