Star Trek: Discovery will arrive this fall, and fans of the Star Trek franchise will need to prepare themselves. No character on the show will be safe. The series may even see the death of a major character in the first season.
Gretchen J. Berg said the following to Entertainment Weekly about the CBS All Access:
“Game of Thrones changed television. They almost made it difficult to fall in love with people because you didn’t know if they were going to be taken away from you. That show’s had an influence on all TV dramas that have come after it.”
Aaron Harberts expanded on her comments:
“Death isn’t treated gratuitously on this show. It’s not for shock value. But when it happens we want to make sure that people really feel it.”
Are you excited to see what happens during the new series? Tell us what you think.
It’s good to know that no one is safe on tv shows these days. Hopefully the USS Discovery will be destroyed, and the crew lost in space.
You know, as much as I love Star Trek there’s NO WAY I’m going to pay CBS to watch any of their programs. They are an antenna network and should allow free access to all their shows (they should be ashamed of themselves) – who do they think they are Netflix, Amazon, or Hulu – there is NO comparison!! So, I guess it’s a hard-pass for me and I’m sure most CBS viewers unless they feel Star Trek is worth it. They better be very careful that they don’t lose viewers, I’ve already started watching fewer of their programs.
No, because I don’t wanna pay for it. Trek should always be free. No pay walls ever.
I’m with you on that. It isn’t fair for US viewers as we’ll have it on regular cable in Canada. Not sure why though, as it will be on Netflix everywhere else outside US, which mean having to pay.
That said, technically it was never free in the past, unless you could get it over the air without cable or satellite, but much cheaper than what they are planning now, especially if you would only watch that show on CBS All Access.
If I was in the US, I don’t think I would pay extra for one show either.
