Tyrant to Conclude On FX With Tonight’s Season 3 Finale

Sep 7, 2016 5:47 AM

LOS ANGELES, September 7, 2016 – FX announced today that Tyrant’s season 3 finale airing tonight will mark the conclusion of the series. For three thrilling seasons,Tyrant followed the intrigue and exploits of an American family drawn into the inner workings of a turbulent Middle East nation.

“It’s very difficult to find common ground with other people whose stories we do not know or understand,” said John Landgraf, CEO of FX Networks and FX Productions. “The creators of Tyrant have done their utmost over three seasons to tell American audiences a tiny fraction of the many gripping, human stories coursing through the Middle East today. We want to thank Howard Gordon, Chris Keyser and their talented team of collaborators, including all the writers, directors, cast and crew, as well as our studio partners at Fox 21 Television Studios, for taking on Tyrant’s tremendously ambitious story with such profound dedication and respect.”

“Tyrant is a beloved show to all of us at Fox 21 Television Studios, and we are indebted to Howard and Chris for their incredible work, and to John Landgraf and everyone at FX who have been fantastic partners,” said Fox 21 Television Studios President Bert Salke. “We feel the show is a gem and we’d love to find a way to keep it in production. That said, we want to be realistic about its prospects. So for its loyal audience, tonight’s episode will be a satisfying end should the series not find another home, but also provides interesting possibilities should we be able to continue on some other platform.”

The series finale of Tyrant airs at 10 PM tonight, September 7, on FX: Episode 10 – “Two Graves” – Barry and Molly are on the brink of waging war on the Caliphate. Leila makes a bold political move and braves the possibility of a close betrayal. Barry and Daliyah face a final reckoning in their relationship. The conflict in Abuddin threatens to turn into a bloody civil war. Written by Christopher Keyser & Howard Gordon; directed by Gwyneth Horder-Payton.

Tyrant is executive produced by Howard Gordon, Chris Keyser, Gideon Raff and Avi Nir. The series stars Adam Rayner, Jennifer Finnigan, Moran Atias, Ashraf Barhom, Noah Silver, Alexander Karim, Cameron Gharaee, Melia Kreiling and Chris Noth. Tyrant is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.

Come on! First The Bridge & now Tyrant?!? Every time a thought provoking, intelligent show doesn’t get thru the roof ratings it has to be canceled? How about you try a little marketing. Jeez. Just disappointing.

Tyrant is one of tbe few shows I watch regularly. Atias and Melia are especially enjoyable to watch. I hope some other network picks up the show and promotes it better than fX did.

Another great show being canceled before running its course. I’ve been a big fan of this show since the beginning and loved discussing the show with my family members. The cast was fantastic and if there was any show out there with more stunning ladies in the lead roles ( well, Okay Game of Thrones)! Although season three got a little out of hand, I still soaked it all up. The action sequences were choreographed with great results. I really hope another network can take in this show for 2 or 3 more seasons. The actors and fans deserve this.… Read more »

I enjoyed the show very much whe it first came on the air. But with season 3 it started feeling too much like a Middle East soap opera. I was considering stopping to watch it. So, I don’t feel much of a loss here. I think FX made the right decision.

Oh no! This show can’t be cancelled! It has been a favorite of mine since it started in 2014. Why on earth would the studio cancel such a popular show? Have they lost their minds????? Please bring this incredible show back. It is one of the very best written shows on TV. Please don’t let it died!

I am SO disappointed to hear of the cancellation of this wonderful show. The acting is superb, and you are sitting on the edge of your seat, waiting to see what will happen next. I really hope that this show is given a 2nd chance by the Network, or picked up by another network.
