Earlier today, it was announced that the Tyrant TV show had been cancelled after three seasons. Tonight’s finale is also the last episode. The cancellation doesn’t come as much of a surprise but, would you watch a fourth season on a channel other than FX?
Tyrant revolves around the youngest son of a dictator who returns to his war-torn country in the Middle-East with his American family. This season, the drama’s cast includes Adam Rayner, Jennifer Finnigan, Moran Atias, Ashraf Barhom, Noah Silver, Alexander Karim, Cameron Gharaee, Melia Kreiling, and Chris Roth.
The series debuted back in June 2014 to a 0.61 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.1 million viewers. While the demo remained relatively steady during the first season, viewership fell off quite a bit. The first season ended up averaging a 0.55 rating with 1.55 million.
The second season of Tyrant saw a big drop and averaged a 0.37 rating with 1.18 million. The third season has fallen further still. It’s currently averaging a 0.20 demo rating with 791,000 viewers.
With such weak ratings, it’s no surprise that FX decided to cancel the series. However, there’s still a possibility that there could be a fourth season elsewhere.
In a statement, Fox 21 Television Studios President Bert Salke, said, “We feel the show is a gem and we’d love to find a way to keep it in production. That said, we want to be realistic about its prospects. So for its loyal audience, tonight’s episode will be a satisfying end should the series not find another home, but also provides interesting possibilities should we be able to continue on some other platform.”

I watched every episode of Tyrant and I really enjoyed the first season but just like the ratings suggest the show got worse every season. This season has been a complete disaster. The story lines are ridiculous and the entire show has become unrealistic. One of the worst things about the show was the son of the main character. I have never seen such a weak man in my entire life. On the rare occasions that he was not crying he was complaining to his father and mother. why please your TV show was all over the world i from Tanzania (EAST AFRICA) i real loved this series… and am so disappointed about this cancel plz try to change your idea let it be canceled at your TV show but let the out coming of season four soon….even season finale of 3 i didn’t like the way it finished course we wasn’t aware if the khlified were killed or the war was won or defeated please do same thing about that
Great show. But instead of leaving things in the air, at least do one final to clear unanswered issues.

I am so dissapointed to hear this. I hope they reconsider this very bad decision. This is far the best TV show ever. I usually dont post anything but for this show i definitely would love to help in any way possible to bring it back. I wait once a year for this show to air back and wait every wednesdays. I hope they make season 4 and reconsider.

Please consider a renewal of Tyrant! There are so many loose ends that could be wrapped up in an additional season. The actors have been superb as well as the episodes. If Tyrant could even be picked up by another network viewers would watch.

If it was going to be saved, someone would have picked it up. I’m sure that the decision to end it came at least 2 weeks ago. It’s averaging a 0.20 per episode, so it’s right on my save/cancel border.
Kindly reconsider continue the show. It’s a very sad and bad decision to stop it that way it ended.
