Earlier today, it was announced that the Tyrant TV show had been cancelled after three seasons. Tonight’s finale is also the last episode. The cancellation doesn’t come as much of a surprise but, would you watch a fourth season on a channel other than FX?
Tyrant revolves around the youngest son of a dictator who returns to his war-torn country in the Middle-East with his American family. This season, the drama’s cast includes Adam Rayner, Jennifer Finnigan, Moran Atias, Ashraf Barhom, Noah Silver, Alexander Karim, Cameron Gharaee, Melia Kreiling, and Chris Roth.
The series debuted back in June 2014 to a 0.61 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.1 million viewers. While the demo remained relatively steady during the first season, viewership fell off quite a bit. The first season ended up averaging a 0.55 rating with 1.55 million.
The second season of Tyrant saw a big drop and averaged a 0.37 rating with 1.18 million. The third season has fallen further still. It’s currently averaging a 0.20 demo rating with 791,000 viewers.
With such weak ratings, it’s no surprise that FX decided to cancel the series. However, there’s still a possibility that there could be a fourth season elsewhere.
In a statement, Fox 21 Television Studios President Bert Salke, said, “We feel the show is a gem and we’d love to find a way to keep it in production. That said, we want to be realistic about its prospects. So for its loyal audience, tonight’s episode will be a satisfying end should the series not find another home, but also provides interesting possibilities should we be able to continue on some other platform.”

I hope that there is a 4th season. Well written and acted and timely. I have watched since the first season and have been looking forward to season 4.

Several friends were talking about it & how we couldn’t wait for the next season. So I looked it up only to find it cancelled. Another well written program gone. Hope someone will pick it up. We will all be there.

I cannot believe this show was cancelled. There are so many 30 minute sitcoms on TV that are not worth watching and then they cancel this one. This was the BEST show on TV. My whole family watched and could not wait until the next week . Barry/Adam is perfect “eye candy”. Bring this show back to TV for the fourth season please!!!!
I loved the first three seasons of Tyrant, I would watch it over and over again, please bring us season four

There are many shows like Fresh off the boat, Blackish that are silly shows, I’ve always been afraid of middle eastern people. Tyrant gives you an insight of the Middle East. I enjoyed watching all 3 seasons and am sorry it’s being cancelled.
I’m really disappointed there will be no Season 4 of Tyrant. I think it would have gotten being ratings had it not been so long between seasons!
I really think that the tv people should let go of some of the reality crap and keep tyrant on this show is great

Great show, sorry to see it end. There would be endless subjects to continue especially with the political situation in the Middle East.
no it should not have been cancelled. it is just now getting in to the heart of all that is good and all that is not so good in this part of the world. Awesome wonderful character study. I will miss this show. Nothing else like it anywhere on tv. Nothing. Nothing. cancellation with leave to many unanswered questions. Come on. continue to push the envelope with this Tyrant. Don’t give us the same old same old
I love this show, as well as a lot of my friends & coworkers! Please do not cancel this show beside the fact that it is a good shows the finale left two many loose ends thst need to be answered at least bring it back for a final season & finalize /answer all the questions that the people who love the want to know . Don’t leave us hanging ! There are worse shows on tv that keep getting renewed. Listen to the people who ultimately pay your salary & keep you in your jobs !
