Earlier today, it was announced that the Tyrant TV show had been cancelled after three seasons. Tonight’s finale is also the last episode. The cancellation doesn’t come as much of a surprise but, would you watch a fourth season on a channel other than FX?
Tyrant revolves around the youngest son of a dictator who returns to his war-torn country in the Middle-East with his American family. This season, the drama’s cast includes Adam Rayner, Jennifer Finnigan, Moran Atias, Ashraf Barhom, Noah Silver, Alexander Karim, Cameron Gharaee, Melia Kreiling, and Chris Roth.
The series debuted back in June 2014 to a 0.61 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.1 million viewers. While the demo remained relatively steady during the first season, viewership fell off quite a bit. The first season ended up averaging a 0.55 rating with 1.55 million.
The second season of Tyrant saw a big drop and averaged a 0.37 rating with 1.18 million. The third season has fallen further still. It’s currently averaging a 0.20 demo rating with 791,000 viewers.
With such weak ratings, it’s no surprise that FX decided to cancel the series. However, there’s still a possibility that there could be a fourth season elsewhere.
In a statement, Fox 21 Television Studios President Bert Salke, said, “We feel the show is a gem and we’d love to find a way to keep it in production. That said, we want to be realistic about its prospects. So for its loyal audience, tonight’s episode will be a satisfying end should the series not find another home, but also provides interesting possibilities should we be able to continue on some other platform.”

FOX complains this series does not have public. HELL NO! Has lots of public who really knows how to evaluate a real well produced, acted movie. We want the season 4 back!!!

Yes, great show. We really got into it and now they want to cancel. Seems the good ones get the ax while they try to put on crappy half hour junk!

Please come to your senses! This Show, is the most riveting program on television! No other show comes close to highlight and illuminate the many multi- layered causes and reasons for the Complex Middle EastConflicts bubbling up and possibly spreading like a bottle of spilled black ink, only in the real world like red blood! Tyrant was cancelled for political reasons. The show was too realistic. Perhaps the entertainment industry should consider the fact that they are not serving at least half of the U.S. population. Tyrant should be kept. At the very least, there should have been a few shows to close up loose ends to let us know how the main characters fared. The decision to end this show like this shows that FX has no respect for the value of the time, thus lives, of loyal FX viewers. Brilliant show. please bring in season 4. I just re watched all 3 seasons. excellent. it shows good people and bad people come from all races. we should not paint a the whole country/ religion with one brush.
