HISTORY’S “ALONE” RETURNS WITH A TWIST FOR SEASON 4 ON THURSDAY, JUNE 15 AT 10PM ET/PT
HISTORY®’S HIT SURVIVAL SERIES ‘ALONE’ RETURNS
WITH A NEW TWIST FOR SEASON FOUR ON
THURSDAY, JUNE 15 AT 10PM ET/PT
New York, NY – May 22, 2017 – The adage goes, misery loves company and HISTORY is putting that to the test in a brand-new twist of its hit nonfiction survival series “Alone,” premiering Thursday, June 15 at 10PM ET/PT. In season four, seven teams of two will be separated and dropped miles apart with two ultimate goals: navigate the brutal, unforgiving terrain of Vancouver Island in an attempt to locate their isolated partner and, once reunited, survive as long as they can. For these seven pairs of family members will having a partner help or hurt their chances of going the distance?
“‘Alone’ continues to captivate viewers with its raw, authentic storytelling and now, after three seasons, we’re adding a new level of complexity to the show,” said Zachary Behr, Senior Executive Producer, HISTORY. “At its core the show remains the same as our survivalists endure the challenges of being isolated in some of the most unstable terrain imaginable. However, this season, pairs are initially separated from one another and must navigate an impenetrable forest in an effort to find each other. Once reunited, they’ll have to communicate, compromise and work together with their teammate if they want to endure the longest.”
Similar to previous seasons, the survivalists must build their own shelters, forage their own food, and overcome numerous obstacles if they want to be the last people standing. With ten survival tools to share per team, enough camera gear to self-document their experiences and a cash prize of $500,000 on the line, season four will bring more sacrifices and higher stakes than ever before. No camera crew. No gimmicks. It is the ultimate test of human will.
“Alone” is produced for HISTORY by Leftfield Pictures. David George, Shawn Witt, Zachary Green and Ryan Pender serve as executive producers for Leftfield Pictures. Zachary Behr and Russ McCarroll serve as executive producers for HISTORY. A+E Networks holds worldwide distribution rights for both the series and the format for “Alone.”

What do you think? Have you watched the first three seasons of the Alone TV series? Do you plan to check out season four, when it premieres on History?
Yes my husband and I love love this show….
I loved the first 3 seasons, but I agree that the whole premise is ruined with the addition of a partner. It also seems that the vetting of qualified participants is very suspect. There is no qualified outdoorsman or survivalist that gives up as easily as some of these folks. Their outdoor skills are not those of people who claim the credentials they do in the pre show. It’s just getting lame, like some of the other reality shows. Probably won’t be watching anymore. I liked the true Alone format.
my husband and I have been huge ALONE fans since day one, all 3 seasons, every episode, love hearing first season winner Allan narrate, but what the heck….new season UGH…why bother to call it ALONE??? its not alone any more. it has lost the main premise of the show, the challenge not only of surviving, but doing so without human contact. I hate naked and afraid, i dont want to see the drama between survivalists, but at least they are naked strangers. Clothes on, father and sons, husbands and wives, not ALONE…and to us the main theme of interest was… Read more »
I have watched all three seasons of Alone. I just finished watching the new season. Very Sad. This seems like Naked and Afraid only with clothes on. I have never seen so much whining. There was nothing wrong with the first three seasons. This is not Alone.
Show was good before this is not alone. I’m not sure I will continue to watch, was so excited for the new season.
I watched all 3 seasons and loved it, am looking forward to the 4th with reservation. Loved the Me against everything idea of the show. Why add teams? You turn “Alone” into “Dual Survival”, Man,Woman,Wild”, “Naked and Afraid”, “Lost Survivors”, “Bear Grills and Whoever”, “Fat Guys in the Woods”. Why? Alone means Alone. Don’t try to fix something that’s not broken. For Season 5 go back to Alone (1 person) some place new.
I plan to watch. I’m not sure if adding a partner will make it easier. You’ll have someone to communicate with and help with hard work. You’ll need feed two though.
Love the show just the way it is. Why fix something that isn’t broken.
I agree with all these other comments. So disappointed they are doing pairs. I absolutely love this show but not sure how this will be as good. Bad decision on whoever made this twist.
So a potential name change is in the works, I presume? “Alone (but not really)”, “Not Quite Alone,” “Persevering Pairs,” or the like? I’m disappointed. I thought the show’s perspective was fresh and this sounds similar to things that have already been done.
This just sucks… Let’s see,,, “ALONE”. Not hide and seek. Not team alone…. Now it just another crap show,,, Survival?????
Way to destroy a good thing
Uhh ohh. The beginning of the end. I don’t want to sit through family arguments. I’m sure we will be watching ridiculous pouting and fake fights. The shows producers should stick to its namesake….”ALONE”
Why change it up, this was the best show on television and it is called “alone” for a reason, making teams is just a way to mess it up.
It was great before so stop trying to make it better.
I have watched from the beginning , love the show looking forward to the new season, interesting change up. Might make it easier with a partner, Only if they can manage to get along in a stressful environment.
I have watched every episode from the beginning, and loved it. Why change it?
I thought the show was called Alone?
I hate the idea of teams. The isolation is what caused so much trouble for the contestants and was the wild card.
Just rename the show “Us”, or “We” or “Together”.
Very disappointed!
