Though AMC has had some popular scripted series that have run for years, many others have been cancelled after just one season. How is the current crop of shows doing? Which will be cancelled or renewed? We’ll have to wait and see.
Scripted AMC Network shows listed: 61st Street, Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, The Beast Must Die, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Dark Winds, Dietland, A Discovery of Witches, Dispatches from Elsewhere, Fear the Walking Dead, Feed the Beast, Halt and Catch Fire, Hell on Wheels, Humans, Into the Badlands, Kevin Can F**k Himself, Killing Eve, Lodge 49, Low Winter Sun, Lucky Hank, Mad Men, McMafia, The Night Manager, NOS4A2, Parish, Preacher, The Son, Soulmates, Tales of the Walking Dead, The Terror, Turn: Washington’s Spies, The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, The Walking Dead: Dead City, and The Walking Dead: World Beyond.
Last update: Most recent ratings added for Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire.
There’s lots of data that AMC execs look at when deciding whether to renew or cancel a TV series but ratings are the major ingredient. Here’s an updated listing of all of their recent/current primetime scripted shows.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also view them here and here.
A couple of notes about these charts:
These figures are updated automatically as new ratings are released (usually a day or so after the broadcasts). The averages are based on the final national numbers (live plus same day viewing). For technical reasons, I have to resort them manually so feel free to let me know if I missed something.
The demo numbers, which are typically most important to the broadcast networks, aren’t quite as vital to cable channels because their audiences are usually much smaller. Demo numbers are typically reported using the 10ths decimal place (2.4, for example). In the averages, I’m using an extra decimal for easier ranking.
What do you think? Are you surprised by any of the ratings? Which shows should be doing better? Which one do you think will be cancelled next?
TURN NO DOUBT SHOULD BE RENEWED!!!! IF YOUR NOT WATCHING IT START!!!I LOVE ALL AMC SHOWS BUT ITS BYE FAR THE MOST UNDERRATED…PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL!!
Turn is the only show on AMC that I watch, really. I find its historicity doubtful, however its entertainement value I enjoy bigly.
Its original author was a British intelligence agent, US and British intelligence nowadays write the histories, they don’t record them.
The show remains favorable to my Washington, at least. I love the writing and the show either way.
Hope it is renewed, bigly.
Turn is a great series, watched the first two seasons on Netflix or I would have never heard of it! Very sad when the walking dead is so popular and I have never even watched it once nor will I. The time slot on Turn stinks, I have to watch the reruns of it most of the time in the wee hours. The acting is superior with few exceptions.
I agree! Why would anyone watch that idiotic show “Walking Dead”? I would never watch it.
I join those praising TURN. I am enjoying it immensely and hope the appearance of “Hamilton” on the next episode will turn more heads to it. I don’t know why that period of history doesn’t draw more people to it, especially since there’s a distinct lack of it portrayed anywhere. (Think of it, most everyone knows who Paul Revere was and there’s never been a movie about him and his story.) AMC, I’d beg if it would help.
Yes ‘Turn’ is superb. I imagine it has a ‘sound’ demographic and should be renewed.
Yes, Martin, I agree! Between TURN and Ron Chernow’s “Hamilton,” this time is history is lush with captivating history. I hope AMC will renew Season 4 and consider more stories along this time. Perhaps younger folks will find American history more interesting than the “dry straw” taught when I was in high school.
Turn is the only show on TV I watch. Living in an area where cable is not offered and the forest prevents satellite reception, I drive 15 miles to watch every Monday night. Being a history buff, and having heard good reviews of the show, I was presented as a gift season 1 of Turn on DVD. Within the first disc, I was hooked……the writing, the acting, the costumes and attention to detail were all superior. Since then I have recommended the show to several friends and all are now loyal fans……the show reaches out and grabs you, demanding your… Read more »
Turn is a great show!! We enjoy watching it every week. I am so hoping it’s not cancelled. It needs to be renewed!
I especially enjoy Turn. What a show! A great ensemble cast, intrigue, action , butt kicking and even some truly touching human relationships and romance. If a movie came up with this same well executed mix it would be a box office hit. Why isn’t America watching???!!! Tune in America and get off your social networks long enough to enjoy this well crafted show. Please don’t cancel this one!!!
We enjoyed Feed the Beast. Hope it sticks around.
Turn is the best show I’ve ever watched. I’m comparing it to Dexter and Breaking Bad.

I’m actually stunned TURN is not at the top of this list. There are few shows that pull me in and have me sitting on the edge of my seat. TURN is one of my top 3 favorite dramas!! Brilliant writers and gifted actors make this show a must watch. I will be so disappointed if AMC cancels this show. I could binge watch TURN over and over again.
I find it so hard to believe that only half a million are watching TURN!
I’m always hearing there is no “quality” TV but when it’s on, no one watches.
TURN is one of the best series I have ever seen & I’m so glad AMC stuck w/it.
Turn is an addicting show and should have more episodes. Great writing and great acting. This is for american people to learn as well as be entertained. Thank you for a great series
Its not often that I get to watch a series on TV.Like many others I’m working most of the time to provide for my family.Hell on wheels was one of those shows that got me to sit down and actually enjoy TV.I enjoyed to show so much I purchased every episode to only find out the show was canceled. The show had an emotional, but real life touch to it.And was a great example to my fifteen year old son on how a man of Integrity live his life by his word ..
Do the ratings reflect DVR viewings as well as on demand viewings?
No, these are the live + same day ratings.
And they base their cancellation decisions on live+same day ratings only?
Hope not … Dang! Pls Lmk and say it ain’t so.
No, but it’s a large factor. Remember, they make money when people watch the commercials.
Unfortunately they don’t……. My biggest wonder is do they apply bought seasons through Google play? I only have my phone to keep up with shows. ….the best part is, I never see a commercial!
This is a wonderful show I love the lead actor that play’s Cullen I try to watch everything that he is in. Its quite the shame your ending the series it nice to have a whole some show. Its a shame everything now is based on sex or murder.
